Interesting development here.
We have a new DA & he's releasing prisoners, dropping charges, lowering charges to lesser crimes, refusing to charge people etc. He managed to piss off not only every victim of crime, but also the cops. There's a recall campaign to get him removed from office & it's supported by the cops.
For as long as I can remember the chances of getting a CCW (concealed carry permit) were zero unless you were, rich, famous or a politician. The guy responsible for issuing CCW's is the head of the LASD (LA County Sheriff). He's now approving around 30% of applications & the percentage is rising.
  8-)

Removing the lambda sensor from the tenere header pipe with no hassle.

This offsets stripping the locking wheel nut key for the Yaris the other day.

Had a similar ball ache with a Celica tailgate strut years back. It defied every method to get one of the nuts off, until there was nigh-on nothing left. In desperation, I left it, went for a wee, sat and had a cup of coffee and whilst stewing in frustration, Googled 'Celica tailgate strut removal' just out of curiosity.
Lo and behold, a video popped up on Youtube, explaining about the wax Toyota put on the nut to stop any possible water ingress, how it sets fast and how just warming it with a Zippo can save hours of frustration.
Put my coffee down, grabbed the kitchen blowtorch and the fucking remnants of the nut was out in 30 seconds with a pair of pliers. Easy.

The noises my compressor tools make, anyone walking past must have thought there was someone really good at mechanicing living here.
It's a bit weedy but it removed seized nuts from a free spinning wheel so it's enough for what I want.

I got paid too much (cash)

Should have been £300 but they accidentally gave me £320.

The good feeling came from going back, explaining their mistake and handing £20 back.

The Japan Times weather forecast page. The weather descriptions are almost haiku - Weather - The Japan Times

First round of toast from a freshly-baked wholemeal loaf. With butter and marmalade. And a big mug of tea.

I've got food in my belly, some demerara rum, a tank full of petrol, new clutch, new rear tyre, the rest of the week off work and the weather forecast is the best it has been for a very long time. I'm easily pleased :banana-dance:

I've had the window open all day. Ok, I haven't been here all day. But I've been home since about 3.30pm and haven't needed to close the window. Normally once the sun goes behind the mountain its too cold to keep the window open (in winter). Guessing spring really is springing :banana-dance: :banana-dance:

Just went outside to walk somewhere and had to take my jacket off!! LOL I really don't know why that makes me smile - I love the cold and the snow. But it's kinda nice to have some warm sunshine for a few days. Warm to me. You's lot would be like the tourists and wrapped up in ski gear
