I’m basing it purely on money, the elgrand would be cheaper to run if you count cost to buy and depreciation and not just fuel. For some reason people are happy paying more for a car that does more mpg despite it costing more to run over it’s whole life.

It's a CC so it's 'jacked up' a bit over a normal car for better ground clearance.

You won't find more comfortable seats in anything but another Volvo.

If you're looking as pickups, do not look at Nissan's with D22 engines.

Pick ups are a waste of time. You can't walk away and leave valuable MTBs in one and they normally have a pretty useless payload anyway. If me were thee, i'd think about a van. You can even chuck a mattress, cooker and portapotti in it and make half camper out of it. Stick to your budget, forget about depreciation and worry more about recurrent costs. Buy something that works for you, and actually fits your needs.

Doesn’t exist, how many times a year would it carry the zx6 ? You’ve got a trailer anyway. Get a transit connect/doblo LWB perfect for mtb duties, almost car like and more economical than a bigger van

Low miles vans are about but there's loads with starship mileages because that's what they do and that's what they are expected to do! I bet there's plenty out there to fit the bill!

Be fun getting a zx6 down from that deck....backwards. First thing in the back will be some bloomin' big ramps!

They seem to have all the disadvantages of a trailer and none of the advantages of a van.

I can see the superficial attraction but I bet a lot get bought and traded again pretty fast and the number you see crammed to the gunnels with everything inc. the kitchen sink on the back seats

I really don't 'get' pickups unless you're living in the Outback (in which case they'd be Utes, of course). There is virtually zero security for anything in the back, the deck height is plus at least 6 inches compared to a van and unless you've got one of those fugly looking covers they turn into a paddling pool when it rains. All they do is mark you out as a bit of a mucho macho man (with a small willy).

The reviews I've seen look quite positive - Van of the Year 2011 but the cabin doesn't sound particularly palatial and depreciation is a double edged sword as you'll get more for your money but lose more if you turn it around quickly. If you can keep it for a while though then

Looks really good but surprisingly cheap to me, although the loading bay looks like it's seen some action (unsurprisingly I guess)...but I'm no expert. Also, don't know how important the Euro rating is...that ones a 5 and I remember someone on here being pleased that they got a Euro 6.

If you are cycling in the Surrey Hills there's a pretty good place at Beare Green that's good for a browse around (I think they used to be Leatherhead Commercials or something like that but must have, eventually, changed name after moving a few years ago). Maybe not to buy from if they're v premium but they do give a degree of confidence/support in their stuff - but just to compare various things in the flesh.
