But I haven't ridden my mountain bike in ages because of a bad elbow that I don't seem to be able to get rid of.
Stopped at the Yamaha dealers today, the blue MT07 looks quite nice, as does the XSR700 with the red stripe on white bodywork.

Been out on it again today, nearly done 1100 miles on it now, really enjoying it as the weather improves, I do wonder why I've bought a bike that encourages me to ride like a twat, the engine is very GSXR 750, and the bike rides like a street fightered GSXR that's been made in a factory.
It also seems to need some fairly obvious counter steering to make it steer quickly, this could just be the wide bars making me notice it.

I think if it's in you,then which means you use to be a twat is mostly irrelevant.
When I changed from the 10R to the naked Zed,I stopped hitting the big numbers so much,but sometimes I think I just moved the twattish behaviour to lower speeds.
Which in some ways I suppose is progress of a sort.

In the short ride I've had on the 1000 I think it's exactly the same. My inner twat is gonna need some controlling

Good luck with that, I'm seriously wondering if I'll make it to the end of the year without getting a ban for silly speeds, maybe that should say end of the month.

Must say I did (on the Storm and R6) get fairly good at shutting off just under 100. Hoping my love of out of the way places will keep me under the radar as much as possible. But it's gonna be harder on the rocketship that is the GSX

Been out on it for 4 hours today, a squiggly trip round Essex and Suffolk.
The left hand foot peg is really uncomfortable, my foot ends up on the pointy end bit, which digs into my foot
Right hand side is okay, so obviously I'm sitting a bit weird on the bike.

Been out on it for 90 minutes today, I consciously tucked my left foot in on the peg, which felt a bit odd, but definitely better.

Now done over 1500 miles, rear tyre is getting a bit square, which is my fault for riding like a twat, and I've discovered the speedo reads fast by a good 10%, if I go past one of those signs that tell you your speed, when the sign says 30mph, my speedo says 33 - 35 mph.
So it really is a modern UJM, right down to the very optimistic speedo.

1500 is good going... you're more than double what i'm on and bought it way after me

The 1000 is the same and I'm loving it. Loads of salt around here or I'd have been out on mine yesterday. Did 250 miles in a weekend and nothing in the last 2 weeks
