When I'm wearing slippers he just pats my foot with his paws as he know his claws would cause discomfort to me.

I appreciate this small token of care.
Cat came home then?

I think my cat Elsa knows that too, she just doesn't give a fuck.

My missus has to use her full name here, coz the abbreviated version means something else here. Just saw this now :obscene-birdiedoublered:

First time I've ever set up the Siri thingy on a phone and as I was driving back tonight, the screen in the minibus said I had a message, so I though, I can play that now!!

Only, my friend shortens french (text speak  Challenging enough for me to read, but the hear??!! ) and also uses a LOT of emojis

Proper howling with laughter! I can't remember the text (have to go back and read it now!) but Siri described each and every emoji - and most were repeated a lot!!

Soooo funny!! LOL

I remember installing dictation software for my parents twenty five or more years ago, Dragon Dictate or something like that. When it came to my mum trying it out she got flustered and started laughing - she was definitely a laugher, struggled to stop once she started - and bless, the software tried its best to transcribe a minute or more of it :)

Not quite the same, but similar.

Brilliant!! For my message it was saying things like (in French) "smiling heart - eyes of hearts - smiling hearts - eyes of hearts - heart - heart - heart behind heart" etc etc!! I spent a couple of minutes trying to work out what he'd written till I understood that it was emoji to text to speech!

Passing a valid parking coupon to another driver, thus breaking their rules and regs, and bilking them of nearly a pound sterling.

Playing 'fetch' with my cat.

He's very fussy about the chosen item he'll bring back to me. It either has to be the blue rubber band that is twisted around supermarket spring onions (UK) or the red plastic tether band (that I always remove) that's on the neck of French litre bottles of milk.

I found out why those tethers are mandated (and still in use here). It's nowt to do with recycling - in fact it makes it slightly more difficult. It's a similar thing to why ring pulls don't separate any more (never noticed until I read about tethers, but they don't). It's to do with litter - and plastic pollution. I guess fewer tops end up in the oceans etc.

They get pulled off in this house, and the spitefully sharp tethers that are generated are further removed and thrown in the bin :angry-cussingblack:

My dad has been giving me his old tools for years, but he's upping it now, as he's losing muscle and isn't going to use much of his stuff anymore.

Last night he gave me his old workshop tool bench, which he made (with the help of the bodyshop), when he worked as a fire service mechanic. I will take a better photo than this, but this is how my car currently looks.

In there also are some massive Stilsons, a fucking huge vice, pipe bender, spring compressors, a bearing puller, hub slide hammer, impact driver, etc. For scale, that adjustable spanner is a 450mm 😆

Our GP surgery is 2 mins walk from the house. I had an appointment for flu jab, and forgot to go. Went down the following day to grovel and make another apptmt, expecting a 2?week plus delay. Hang on, she said…. Yep, we could do you now! Sleeve up, jab, home again 2 min later. 👍👍😀
