Well. It's over a grand, made in Japan and takes months to build and ship.

Re: Happy new bike day.... WTF, what do you mean it's a Yamaha ???
Thanks for confirming this, you have a couple of options to consider.
Volcanic Black is a polymer ceramic coating aimed mainly at aesthetic coating applications, it is between satin and matt in appearance with a smooth finish and is suitable for temperatures up to 1050C. The coating comes with a 1 year guarantee.
Endurance Black is a plasma applied ceramic coating for aesthetic and thermal barrier applications, it is a matt finish with a slightly rough texture. The coating will reduce the surface temperature of the pipes by up to 25% and comes with a 3 year guarantee.
Please see pricing below.
Volcanic Black £245 ex vat and shipping
Endurance Black £358 ex vat and shipping
We can also offer a courier collection and return delivery service, the price for this is £20 ex vat each way for packages up to 1m in length. Would you like to book this in?

Can't you just rattle can it with a £15 tin of VHT paint from Halfrauds?

That's pretty much where I'm seeing it going mate yeah, even if it means whipping it off every winter to repeat it. There's no way I'm paying the best part of £400 for only 1 year warranty.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 9:43 am Can't you just rattle can it with a £15 tin of VHT paint from Halfrauds?
The MT09 system is on there currently and I'll do some thinking on things

Yeah sod that. £400 squid to maybe keep it black.
I doubt if the bike was new it'd have gone off as it did with you as an owner in the first place. So maybe re-finish it and it'll be job done. As I said on Fri I'm surprised the finish is so shit in the first place. That's as bad if not worse than my 99 model Fazer
Although me I'd leave it with the MT system on and have no bother

Yes is the simple answer.Taipan wrote: ↑Mon Jul 20, 2020 5:18 pm Are Akras really worth almost twice the price of black widows.

The carbon has a full length intermediate pipe hidden where the cat would normally be. Giving it a big fat midrange and a screaming top end. Not used a BW but looking at the design i imagine its all top endy.
Doubt the headers are tapered as well.

I think the one that's on there is fine. The OEM shapes fit the bike better IMO

How well does the ceramic coating deal with stone chips. Fender extenders do nowt in my experience.

But now we have the header quality debate with them.
Currently I'm good with mt09 set on there in terms of looks and quality. I'm still not convinced it fully matches the bike, but meh, it's nice.
I'll likely have a crack at painting the stock system in the next few weeks and see if it holds up at all.

It's very tight in the context of poking out, it simply doesn't, it's flush to the swingarm, so from the back it's great.
From the header perspective it's great too.
Just not quite sure it flows with rest of the look of the bike. Along with being a bit too stealthy on noise. It's only 1-2Db more it needs, but would be nice
