I was hoping my next post on this thread would be with the exhaust fitted but that’s not the case.
I had changed my mind and decided I was wanting the full akrapovic evolution race system but after weighing up the finances I decided what I’d do the now is purchase the GP slip on then further down the line when funds were better i would get the full system and sell on the GP slip on.
The slip on arrived on Wednesday there and after opening it up I was bitterly disappointed to find that it wasn’t as it should be, it’s left the factory with a broken rivet, the rivet clearly not fully home and the broken part is rattling around inside. There was also a score mark on the link pipe part which I could have lived with but made them aware of that as well.
So the exhaust is currently boxed back up waiting to het uplifted, well I’m still waiting for that to be confirmed but I can’t see any other outcome than that.

It's disappointing when you pay premium prices for what should be a quality item, then it turns out faulty from new.
I'd fix it if it was second hand,or cheap, but not when it's new and should be right, out of the box.

How did that pass any sort of QA? As Skub said, when you pay the money you expect the quality.

Exactly, easy fix but I’m thinking “why should I” when you pay that kind of money. I emailed where I purchased it from and emailed Akrapovic directly that evening, the next day the plan was to phone the shop where I purchased it but they had emailed me back before I had the chance and got the ball rolling.
They have forwarded the images to Akrapovic and are awaiting what to do next which I suspect will be send this one back and get another one sent to me.
When it arrives I’ll be making sure it’s perfect.

QA costs money, 1, 2, miss a few 99, 100.

Well that’s the exhaust finally been picked up and sent back, I wonder how long it will take for another one to arrive.

Who'd you buy it from?

Road race performance Shropshire.
Tbf they’ve been great, Akrapovic have been very slow but I suppose it’s understandable when they’re so busy just now with the start of the race season.

Akrapovic have finally shipped the replacement to RRPS so it should be here sometime next week. Not overly happy with Akrapovic, it should have been dealt with much quicker than this.

Some big outfits know their products are in demand and punters will often put up with more to get what they want,as a result customer service can slip down the list of priorities.

They’ve been mega busy with the start of the race season but still, I’d expect more when it comes to a replacement because of their fuck up. Here’s hoping the replacement one is up to standards.

A month after the issue and nearly 2 weeks since they shipped the replacement? That's rubbish.
Being busy with racing when they change franky silly prices for their stuff ain't good enough IMO, I'd be properly pissed as I imagine you are.

Yeah absolutely, I sent an email which I’ve had no reply. I’ll hold off until Wednesday then give them a call after work. It’s beyond a joke now.
And I’ve just remembered, when I opened the can way back and found the problem I sent both RRPS and Akrapovic an email, RRPS replied first thing the next morning before I even had a chance to phone them, but Akrapovic have never ever replied to that email, I had forgot about that.

Guessing it's colder than it looks! Bloody 3c this morning in the 'balmy' south, with frost on the cars. 25th of flucking April

-3 this morning, was decent last week, between 4 and 6 most mornings getting up to 12-16 for heading home. Managed to take the bike all week but back to the car this week.

The replacement finally arrived. I’ve stuck it on but I’m still not happy. First of all, there was still a slight rattle when I lightly shook the can, which has me thinking have they just redone the rivet themselves (akra) but not removed the broken bit within the can????? There is also a rivet head which isn’t perfectly flush, not as bad as before but still noticeable when you have a good look.
Also at the end of the can just under the outer sleeve there is a scratch/scrape, I’ll attach a pic showing this. I’ve taken pics and a video which I will send to RRPS, bit of a joke for something that costs roughly £700, I’d fully expect perfection and nothing less. I am a pernickity coont and sometimes it can be misplaced, sometimes I need to just say “it’ll do” but this is not one of those cases. Bit fucked off tbh.
