He loved making old ladies laugh till the tears ran down their legs, especially when they knew it was a joke they shouldn't be laughing at. Very very funny bloke, tho you had to be prepared.

Was comparing his language to the likes of Roy Brown or some of the modern comics. Never heard a c(ban hammer warning)t or fuck from Jethro. Likewise Bob Monkhouse, saw him live at a works do, we were crying but not a single 'mal mot'

Not sure he about the not being recognised bit. Just about every comic talks about Bob Monkhouse as being the exemplar including all those 80's "alternatives" such as Ben Elton and Alexei Sayle.
