To be fair, I do now know the names of some of these people now, but thats taken a while and I learned the dogs names a long time before the owners.
Bit like knowing people by their kids names.
"Oh thats Dans mum" etc.
I know quite a few internet weirdos only by their forum name - one of my funniest trackday moments was calling to a mate and not knowing her actual name. Took ages before she responded to the shout of ‘Yoda, YODA, YODA, YO-DA

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You knew my name baby, when I had you in my camper van.
Very grateful afterwards as I remember :obscene-birdiedoublered:

Just got an email from Nationwide:

"Dear [Saga Lout],

"When we profit, we think you should too, so we are delighted to let you know that we are giving you £100...

"When we profit, we think you should too, so we are delighted to let you know that we are giving you £100.Fairer Share is a way for us to give you something back. This year, we are sharing almost £400 million of our profits equally between members like you, who bank and save or have a mortgage with us."

Now that's unexpected. :)

Edit: Woot! Message in the app. Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

Edit2: Double woot! 'Cos it's a joint a/c looks like we get 2 lots. (I think they did this last year too. It counts as interest though so if anyone is at the limit, the taxman cometh. :(

Ohh and making me happy lately is the lovely little campsite I've landed on for the summer. Really small (approx 100 mobiles, a few cabins a maybe 60 tent pitches), really well looked after, gardeners do a great job and clearly the owners arent afraid to spend money when required. Such a change after the one I was on the last few years :bblonde:

Ohh yeah, I forgot, another one from me, it's a 2 for 1 !!!

When I got to this campsite, the wifi was shite and the phone signal, not much better!.

I'm well aware that campsite owners do not generally care if 'we' have wifi in the 'live area'. I'm a big boy so I simply stumped up £159 and bought a phone signal booster (of dubious legality) and bolted it onto the canopy over my decking.

This worked very well for few days. it went from being able to watch Youtube at 360p to 720, even 1040 on occasion!.

The campsite owner told me that he'd up grade 'our' wifi. He wasn't lying, now I can get 1040HD all day and all night. This little upgrade cost him €500 and it ONLY benefits staff. WOW, thank you, you're the best, thank you.

Win 1

Win 2 goes like this

I take down my booster and return it to Amazon for a full refund, no questions !!

Facebook memories, even if they're not great I still like looking back into history.

Exactly fourteen years ago today I was in Afghanistan working for the Americans, it wasn't the best of circumstances but it bought home the bacon, and I used to look forward so much to getting back home to the family and giving everyone a big hug, those memories of getting out of a taxi and them all waiting on the driveway for me are priceless

Mine just popped up. Thirteen years ago I received word that the insurance was fixing my MG ZS TD 101 rather than writing it off. Eight years ago I posted a review of Superman Vs Batman and Captain America Civil War!

Usual sparkie couldn't make it today, so he's sent a young lad along who looks about 14 years old.

I was slightly alarmed until he confirmed he wanted a cup of tea, nice and strong. Phew...proper tradesman.

And he's on his fourth tea of the morning as we speak. :o

Was just on a Teams call with some colleagues. I was drinking a brew from a mug I got for my 30th birthday. One young wag commented that it was older than she was.

She's 25 next birthday.

I've had the opposite experience.

It's all great posting up pictures and memories of what the Mrs and I have been upto.

Not so much fun after the relationship breaks down and FB keeps reminding me.

Making me happy today......

My parents are on their way with their camper for a few days at the campsite where I work.

My FB memory today was reminding me that I bought this exactly thirteen years ago today, and then went on to finish on the podium and lift a trophy in my first race. That was a happy moment :)
