Ash (the rider on the right of the pic) has been a mate for nearly 40 years. He used to live close by me, saw me riding my LC and rang my doorbell and introduced himself as a fellow LC owner... :D

One of the Spanish bar owners in the village said there's a group that leave from the petrol station most Thursdays and go out for brunch. I then got introduced to an English bloke, Glen, who goes out with the Spanish lot on Thursdays. A Whatsapp from Glen says this week will be a long one, we're leaving at 8am, I invite my mate Andy and we're joined by Diego. Apparently, it really is a long one and the rest aren't up for it.

Diego and Glen are members of a bike club (it's not really) called the The Railroaders, there's branches all over Spain and each branch sets a challenge. The challenge is riding around and taking a picture at various places to prove you've been there. The've been doing the challenge from the Albacete branch in stages, this is one of those stages. To cut a long story story short, we eventually we arrive at place called Villarrobledo which is the furthest point on todays ride and meet Juan from the Albacete branch of the Railroaders. Juan takes us to the last location of the day, Minaya station, and from there it's home to La Romana. Before he left Juan gave Andy and I the official badge for the challenge.

The free to join Railroader club https://railroader.es

I'm not one for bike clubs, as I prefer riding on my own, or with mates who I have been riding with for years (and I know we all were all strangers once).

Great photos, and not a Harley that I can see, and web site explains things clearly enough. I've sent an email to railroader, but not sure whether I will ever ride with them. I'm a miserable bugger.

To me, there are too many make pretend "MC" clubs around here ( no names, no packdrill). All their members riding HD's (and looking down on all others makes), each rider with a bottle blonde wife on the back, both wearing matching cut off vests with back patches, and each club having some extraordinary rules. As Groucho Marx once said "......
I feel the same about clubs in general, but was introduced to a branch of the FFMC - Fédération Française des Motards en Colère - and found them pretty sociable, on a varied array of bikes, and they break up ride outs into groups

Although the one I did with them was a pretty specific one with quite a few people joining for the day and who obviously didn't normally ride in groups or were just total fuckwits !!

I pissed off one on an R1 cos I overtook him through a village (he'd been pissing about for the whole time I'd followed him and in the villale he was going from10kph to 50kph when it suited him - so when he next slowed I went past !! He actually didn't rejoin after the next break - was never sure if it was because I'd overtaken him (a girl ffs !!) or because someone told him it was because he was riding like a prick in a group !!!

Guess it will always depend on the people in the group, haven't found the FFMC in my area but as I don't have a bike to ride yet, I'll not try too hard till I have my own wheels (registered here) again :banana-dance: :banana-dance: :banana-dance:
Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!! :bblonde:

2025 has not disappointed, more of the same for me.

More of the magnificent Cotswolds today, I’m still discovering villages and interesting places to stop whilst out exploring.

Probably back in 1992/3 ish. I do remember it was raining what made the area look bleak but looking to go back up that was to visit Smoo Cave.

I had a good day out/lunch yesterday with the classic bunch. We did over 100 miles, mostly on back roads, which isn't bad on old bikes, plus everyone made it home again. Bonus. :D

I didn't take many pics, just this one of Lucy and her bloke with two of her many bikes,a Supersix and an old Scott stroker.

That Super Six looks lovely. If it were me I'd change the bars, but it's still very nice. I can remember the commotion when Suzuki introduced them - fastest 250 by some distance at the time.

Yes. I popped into the RE dealer in Stafford I know well, and he had a Yamaha YL1 (100cc twin!) from around 1966/67 and it was TINY. Like a half-scale model. As a spotty yoof, that was my heart's desire.

For about 3 months, then something else replaced it...

Another tough day at the office.
Been hot lately with no wind, so decided to make my own wind.
Was cooler in the hills and on the other coast.
Gentle riding and nowt too energetic.

From Sunday but been too busy to sort out pics etc. But better late than never!

Sunday dawned another perfect day for a ride so over a morning coffee I planned a quick rough route then got the bike out and headed off to Maldon again to start as love the Hatfield Heath to Chelmsford Rd, loads of bikes out doing the same as me with little in the way of car traffic. From Maldon I branched off to Inworth just passed Tiptree for a lovely breakfast bagel and another coffee at the Red Dog Cafe

Image

Suitably full I carried on north through Coggeshall, Halstead and on to Clare in Suffolk. Essex/Suffolk can't do the dramatic scenery of the South West or the North, but it can do rolling countryside and chocolate box villages for days

Image

At Clare I decided to pick up an old favourite road across to Cafe 33 near Stradishall which is a bit of a biker Cafe. I noticed on the ride Essex seems to be clinging onto to the Sportsbike flag more than most places, loads about on the ride and a few at the cafe

Image

With Temps rising and time passing I picked up the A134 to Haverhill, across to Radwinter, then down to Dunmow before threading my way back through Hatfield Heath and the hell hole that is Harlow to pick up some bits at Sportsbikeshop. Harlow traffic then done it was a fast blast down the 414 back to Hertford and a cold beer in the garden. Perfect :obscene-drinkingcheers:

Yeah it does look very much like a pub garden, partly why I like it there
