I'm realising that a lot of people here are recovering from serious injuries and I don't know what caused them. Did they all happened at the same time? Did you all meet up to fight it out at a trackday that got a bit competitive (I know the Cooper's Hill Cheese Rolling was cancelled this year so it wasn't that) or are you all just really clumsy? Stay safe.

Not sure if this is insignificant or not, but it is a piss boiler fo’sure.
Look on the bright side, once you're properly addicted the feeling of being nauseous will go away and you'll really look forward to every dose, especially when you have to take more and more for the same numbing effect. By February morphine will be your best friend
Hence....

First rule of the RTTL clusterfuck is that no-one admits to being there until the cast is off.

It's a motorcycle forum...full of old giffers...

One thing with motorcycles, if you haven't fallen off, you will. Some of us have been doing that shit for 40yrs+ - all seems like shits and giggles when you're young, but by fuck it don't half catch up with you as you age.

And cars and bicycles, in my case.

Going by this forum recently pushbikes are much more dangerous than motorbikes.

I had similar with the cortisone. Supposed to last 6 weeks - 6 months  Yeah right

At least morphine does actually give some pain relief to you - even if it comes with spaced-out-ness!! Didn't do anything for me :( :( (Well, seemed to be good after the second op but that might have been the fact that the nerves weren't working!!! )

Not an answer to your question, but a couple of days ah a courier co emailed me a photo of the package in the porch, at least proving that the driver and package had been here.
Fortunately, it turned up. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth it, so has been returned and a full refund obtained. :)

Doesn't seem a very efficient way to contain the virus?

It's weird for sure, especially the 'on entry' test. The hospitals here had covid and non covid wards - however, I didn't have a test on arrival. They may have done a test with some of the blood they took before hand, but that isn't the same as it was three or four days before I was admitted!

In rehab when we had a case, the wing was locked down and the patients had regular tests, as did the staff

But I still thought it was weird that no one tested me on admittance to either hospital or rehab!

Hope your Step Mother gets proper treatment for what has made her worse, and really hope she doesn't get C19 xx
Alas, she does have covid! According to Nurse I spoke with, the new strain seems to take you down straight away or not at all, or at least in their experience. So they are hoping as she's five days into it, it wont progress to anything more and she is showing no symptoms at all. If there's an upside to this its I have a 10 day break from running round after her. That may sound a bit selfish but trust me, its hard work at times!

It's not selfish, it's totally understandable. Try not to be so hard on yourself.

Hey Tenpin,it's a guilt trip isn't it.

Since last year I've been in a similar position with my stepmum and my dad. Seldom a day and sometimes night when the phone rings and I gotta run.

Don't beat yourself up fella, just do the best you can and when it all blows over (as it will) you'll be at peace with yourself.

I'm fed up with most covid questions in the press, they pretend to be from the public but I suspect many are made up by journalists for the sake of it. There are occasionally good questions during the briefings but most seem to be stupid.
"Why am I in tier 4 and the next town isn't?"
"Can I still go on holiday?"
"Why do we get so little notice of rule changes?"
"Should someone who has just traveled up north from London self-isolate?"

UPsoddingS

The usual driver calls when en route so I can be home

If there is no call then generally it's a different driver and they can't be arsed to drive up the mountain

Someone ordered me something from Amazon and its delivering by UPS. They couldn't be arsed to drive up the mountain so have delivered it to a relay point 40 minutes away in the valley. I can't get there today as need to check something on the van (think it might have an issue) so can't collect till Monday

And the UPS site is soooooooooo not user friendly (when Google suddenly decides to no longer translate pages for me). It's 'help bot' is not helpful. It's automated phone line is so fast I can't quite understand what is being said. ANd damn if it didn't take 20 minutes to find out how to actually send an email - which probably won't be answered till monday!!

Bloody good job I know what it is and it isn't particularly important. But I am pissed of that a company so big has such a totally useless website for contacting and asking for a redelivery (which they probably won't do now that it is at a relay point   )

Two niggly things that I noticed yesterday.

1. Eggs, fresh eggs. No, not the the eggs themselves, not even that some people who live in towns keep their own chickens to get ensure a supply. No, it's when their cockerel makes itself known at 5am.

2. Take-away cardboard coffee cups (with lids) as used in TV programmes as props. Why don't they put some sort of liquid in them so they look correct - rather than being waved around etc?

People who move into a newbuild estate in a village and can't cope with their house having a number so give it a name. Just so everyone knows they've managed to move out of Botcherby or wherever.
So theres a few with numbers and then a mass of Dunroamins and Rose Cottages.
Twats.

Of course this wouldn't be an issue but for the fact that Ive just done the crimbo card run with my wife and it seems that most of her mates live in new estates in Scotby/Wetheral/Cumwhinton and ratching about looking for Rose Cottage #11 was getting pretty damn old.
