Mine is about as new tech as I want to go. Later ones are fly by wire throttle, tft screens etc and I dont want any of that.

I've been doing a lot of work on my iffy knee and have a lot more movement in it now and maybe able to handle a manual bike again. So I may keep the CB1000R to go with it as i really like that bike, but if i have to choose it'll be the At that stays, no contest.

I took the baffle out. Not sure why? Just being a nuisance I suppose! :? :D Pads are about a 30% improvement on cold braking performance. Super pleased with them. I found that little deflector thing in the loft-of-plenty, so thught id give it a try. Initially, I didn't like it as it's in your line of sight. 2nd ride back from the shops and I didnt notice it so much? I'll try it on my commute but suspect it'll be heading back to the loft-of-plenty...

Denali mini superbomb hooter thing and service kit arive tomorrow but i'm going away for teh weekend, so suspect it'll be next weekend before tey get fitted?

Anyway, I cant believe I jump on this to pop to the shops and then take the long way home! I like this bike so much more than I hoped or expected to!

For reasons only known to DPD they've returned my service kit to the supplier?!! :wtf: It's really annoying as I'm off work at present and could have serviced the bike whilst I'm off. Ho hum...

Sacked off the deflector and put done screen riser brackets. I can also fit the standard height screen as well and will which combo works out best.

Took the bike for a ride to check the new screen brackets. Thought I’d have a run up the A12 to see how the screen was at motorway speeds then on the backroads to get back home. Then I remembered I have the Zumo and I’ve not really tried to set up the adventure road setting, so i did and headed for Flatford Mill. 110 miles later and I’m home.

Loved the adv road setting and ended up on some great little back roads and even a cart track at one point. Using the up and down switches onthe DCT box was just brilliant! Effortless clicking +/- the gears through bend after bend after bend. One of the best bike rides I’ve had in years if not ever! I really couldn’t be more pleased with this bike! 8-)

Only downside is the baffle needs to go back in as it was too loud when overtaking. Oh and the brackets raised the screen so the wind is deflected over my lid. Worked brilliantly with visor up at approaching 3 figures. That was on a dry sunny day though, at night in the rain with brake lighs refractin it might be different, but i'll find out soon enoughh, no doubt?

110 miles? You must be finding this one more comfortable.

I thought i'd get a numb arse and tingling fingers, but barely anything at all. TBH i only came home then as the dogs had been left a while, otherwise id have stayed out longer as it's such an easy and enjoyable bike to bimble around the countryside on! :D

Been working hard on my knee and have improved things greatly. I'm also getting my exercise bike back this weekend to further improve things and I've signed up for an NHS course of physio, if they ever get back to me! But even if I could change gears again, there is nothing I'd replace the AT with! I might keep the Cb1000R as I really like that bike and would have liked more time with it? But if I'm honest with myself, its not of much use to me really? I dont even look at other bikes or go in for bike comps anymore. The AT really does do everything I ask of it and is e verything I want in a bike! Shame I didn't realise earlier as i could have saved myself a lot of money. I'm such a pratt!

Whilst not perfect and you could get the same from google maps if you planned ahead I find the TomTom twisty roads absolutely worth the price of the unit. Being able to get 90% great roads on the fly in seconds is great IMO and really good for finding new places. Only downer I find is the occasional goat track even though I've set it to avoid unpaved roads and the fact it'll go round the houses through towns, but I negate that by ignoring it through towns or changing the setting to direct for a short time before switching back.

I do need to have a read up on the Zumo as I couldn’t work out how to turn the feature off. As I was near my daughters I knew the area so just ignored it when I realised I’d left the dogs alone for too long! It was a bit annoying to have to cut it short though as it was finding little roads I not even noticed before!

I fitted a Denali sound bomb mini. Not sure of the “twice as loud” claims, but it does seem louder and with a deeper tone and I’m pleased with it. I look forward to scaring the crap out London’s myopic pedestrians and meandering cyclists! :D

I also refitted the baffle which took a lot longer than fitting ghe hooter! Never known a db killer that was so hard to get in!?
