Had to, it was such greasy shit. Truth be told, the dog ate more of it than me. :shhh:

Kebabs are my dirty little secret! I love 'em when I've had a drink. That said I probably only have 3 or 4 a year.

The place we got them from last time sell really nice tasting ones, they're sort of lemony with oregano. Lush. This one was the worse one I've had in years. It was just greasy, so much so the pitta bread had soaked up a lot of it and turned doughy! It must be bad if you turn your nose up at it when you're pissed!

I might have a doner for lunch when I'm in town, meat (lamb/beef mix) or chicken. I usually use the same cafe, and they're good. Cheap too. Chillis will be in a jar on the side, help yourself.

You can buy pre-packed, cooked doner meat in the supermarkets here, again beef and chicken, so I keep some in the freezer in 100 gram bags. Knock up some sauce, bung in some noodles and a couple of minutes later throw in the meat. With a glass of ayran it's a good lunch.

Spent a couple of hours getting a weeks worth of hardened bugs off the bike. Naked bikes are durty bastrids.

Vulcanet wipes appear to be a good job, especially for fiddly parts. Come this time tomorrow it'll look like I didn't bother.

Off to the nursing home to visit my Da shortly, then later this evening maybe catch up some Motogp.

Spent four hours getting to Suffolk to see a friend who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. We chatted for a few hours about all sorts of rubbish. Good to catch up.

My mum text to say her op to remove her cancerous kidney is 5 July. Good news, but she's understandably nervous.

Got a call to say another friend and ex colleague has days to live.

Got home just now and chatted to mrs. G about her mum, who's older brother visited today as he was up from Dorset. Apparently both he and his wife broke down when they saw the m-I-l as she looks so very near to death.

All-in-all, a bit of a morbid day. :(

On a cheerier note: it's been raining all day, so rather than waste the day I thought I spend a large part of the morning on Rightmove. Our house is "sold subject to contract" in estate agents speak and I was wandering what I could I could buy for "sensible" money in places I fancied living. After five hours I came up with two, one we're going to view tomorrow, this is the other:

Saved a bunch of money. There's a fitting over the vac line in the pool that has a spring loaded cap to keep it closed when the hose isn't connected.

Image

The pool guy had one with him last week & screwed it in a bit, it got tight after a couple of threads. He said he didn't want to tighten it too much in case it broke. :hmmm:
Well that's not right.. so after he left I removed it. Not only had he cross-threaded it, but he'd failed to notice there was some pool plaster in the threads it screwed into. Somewhat mullared the first two threads of the screw in part, but female threads just peachie. :silent:
Couple of days ago I chased the plaster out of the female threads

Today I go to Lowes looking for a new doodad. No luck. Bugger, this means a visit to the pool store... where, as expected they wanted $42 + 9.75% sales tax for this fine piece of Chinese engineering. :wtf:
Salesman: "They're about $50"
Me: "I don't need one that badly
Bollocks to that.
Look on Amazon... there's a slew of them priced $20 to $45. :hmmm:
Decide to put my years of filing experience to good use & fettle the part with a file. 2 or 3 minutes later I have it looking serviceable. Put down a blanket so I can lay on the concrete next to the pool.
Fucker screwed all the way in on the first try. WOOT!! :banana-wrench: :banana-wrench: :banana-wrench: :banana-wrench: :banana-wrench:
Job jobbed.

Best thing for that is a soaking wet piece of cloth (old-shirt) laid over the bugged area and smoothed down, then left for 5-10 mins.

I set off early with the intention of riding for the morning and heading home early afternoon. I was about 100 miles away from where I needed to be when I remembered It's Tuesday and I had to take a Covid test...

So,I didn't get to go the route I planned, but still managed to get nearly 3 hours riding in.

Some days just have you on a string. I love the days when I don't have to watch the clock,or have to be anywhere, but not today.

Sorted some paperwork, printed some stuff for French homework, cleaned up after the kitten (why does she normally pee in the litter tray and then sometimes on 'something' on the floor?!) and printed some stuff for an interview

Now going to get more sorted and dressed in something that looks better than pjs ready for the online interview - all whilst crossing fingers madly!! LOL Really want this - still self employed but a decent back up to the transfers
