Blue skies and bright warm sunshine.
T&Cs might apply in other parts of the UK
But same here

Same here too, blue skies, sunshine and a howling gale. We have been in Lincolnshire for the weekend in a campervan but headed back up north today. I am not going anywhere near the Humber Bridge, even if it is the shortest way back

Today's weather has not exactly been sunny, but it has been warm.
The thing that made me happy today -
I spent about 2 hours sat by a roundabout near Chambery airport and saw/heard a LOT of bikes!! Unusually, probably a third of them were sports bikes
Don't really know why it makes me happy, but it did

In my head, because I'd never have the balls to say it.
Guy reversing his Porsche thing into a space. 911 jelly mould + wings and skirts, whatever.
It sounded awful, like the exhaust was loose.
So, in my head, "Hope you get it fixed soon".
Well, it amused me

Enjoy!
Now that's what I call a friend.
I'd suggest he's also an incurable optimist, but he's definitely a top friend!
He is definitely an incurable optimist

. But not just in the lending a bike to the FUF!!
Apparently Iβm their favourite cat sitter

. I usually get to look after cat, house and bike
But the offer of a bike for a few months is definitely different and very much appreciated

Sounds like a trip needs to be organised. I like the sound of 21 hairpins

Fixed my daughters slow puncture where she went down a pothole. Rim is dented in an bit and I thought I'd have to knock it out with heat but a simple bead break and reseal did it. I'm a might pleased with myself!

Spanish restaurants and tapas bars.
Great food, silly prices. 3 of us ate in a superb fish restaurant last night, 150β¬ all in, including drinks, wine and the tip.
A lunchtime snack for 3 including beers runs to about 35β¬
We have eaten/had a snack at 6 places so far, every one excellent.

The wife is obsessed with tapas style padron peppers. I'm more of a pawns in garlic oil kind of guy.

Tapas in town range from 5β¬ to 10β¬ each.
They're a nibble. Technically quarter portion. Half portion is medio.
But they charge same as full portion
Up in the villages they're 3β¬ each for the locals. And bigger portions

Just the way Spain loves and encompasses bikes.
On our little island of 140,000 there's about 10,000 bikes according to recent news. And you see and hear hundreds on weekends.
The vast majority wearing the compulsory Canarian safety gear.
T-shirt, jeans/shorts and trainers. Even the sports bikes
And yesterday I was on a trackday at Maspalomas Gran Canaria.
Only 14 bikes but about 30 folk in the little grandstand watching.
And later in the day I saw about 50 or so on the hill at end of circuit. They'd parked on road and walked to a vantage point.
It was just by pit entrance and they were waving at us as we came in. It felt great. They love speed and track action so much, they even come to watch numpties like us
This morning I drove past the track and could see where they had parked and clambered to viewing spot. About 50 again today.
And during the 45 minute drive to ferry this morning, I saw about 50 bikes. Not one had any leather gear on. No protection at all really.
Even motorway.
And 2 lads at hotel took care of me. Found a nice safe spot for car and trailer and kept an eye on it.
This morning they were taking photos of the tyres and my knee-sliders.
Totally refused my offer of enough Euros for a few beers
Awesome

Blackbirds.
Dawn chorus kicked off at 5.30 this morning. The blackbirds seem to latch on to a particular phrase that can last a few years then change.
At the last house they had a few seasons of a very chipper 'G'mornin!'.
This place they seemed to want to celebrate their freedom of movement and had a few seasons of 'Euro-peean-peeean-peeean!'.
Now they seem to like what we've done with the garden and chant 'that'sbrilliant!-thankyou'. The ones in the woods seem to like it there too.
Funny how they all seem to latch onto the same thing. V nice to wake up to.

Celebrating life's oddballs.
42 Balloons: New musical follows man who flew over LA in a garden chair
https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-68811305
"In 1982, a truck driver made headlines when he tied 42 helium balloons to a garden chair and flew over part of Los Angeles."
Always loved the story of "Lawnchair Larry". Such a hare-brained scheme, that actually came to fruition plus he lives to tell the tale, completely unabashed as to the chaos caused.

Lost one of the covers for my air forks on the tredder ( a very posh tyre valve cap thingy)
Only noticed the following morning.....bugger!
Anyways, today out with the hound on the bike again (me on bike, dog running), get to the final approach to the gaffe which is a RaF track, thought I'd keep 'em peeled just in case, and bugger me, half way down the track I see a familiar shape lurking in the grass. Happy days!
