Took a trip to J&S to pick something up - stopped for a cup of tea & a flapjack so I could charge up my helmet.

There were other places I went on the ZX11Supermofo wrote: Mon Jun 02, 2025 8:25 am Is that part of the problem? If I only rode to and from the same place every time I'd probably lose my mojo for riding a bit.

Or they're the only trips he connects the speedo....

Might try that trip again. Early 90's a mate and myself got lost after PitlochryScotsrich wrote: Sun Jun 01, 2025 8:46 pm IMG_0359.jpeg
Motorrad run to Rannoch Station. 25 bikes which was more than expected but the roads we used were quiet enough that it didn’t cause problems. Intense tho, just corner after corner for a lot of it.
297 miles. The weather forecast wasn’t great but we just had a few showers

I’m useless at navigating, I was happy just keeping a bike in front of me.Felix wrote: Tue Jun 03, 2025 12:31 amMight try that trip again. Early 90's a mate and myself got lost after PitlochryScotsrich wrote: Sun Jun 01, 2025 8:46 pm IMG_0359.jpeg

I’m guilty of sticking to the same roads. On a group ride when they turn down some little twisty road I’m like How the hell did you find this?

I get around that by wandering. If I'm out on the bike on familiar roads,I'll see some little offshoot and take it just for curiosity. I've found some lovely places doing that and sometimes not far from home, either.Scotsrich wrote: Tue Jun 03, 2025 12:46 pm I’m guilty of sticking to the same roads. I have always hated going back the same route. Even if i go to the shops with the car in the next town i will come back another road. I much prefer a large loop when out on a bike run.Skub wrote: Tue Jun 03, 2025 4:41 pmI get around that by wandering. Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
I arrived at home on Sunday evening after a 15 day ride up to the annual Czech Bike event, this year held in Tabor, and back. This was the 17th year of the event, and my 15th year of attendance.
Rode up through Spain, across France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and arrived in Czechia on the Thursday evening. 130 bikes in attendance this year, and superb organisation of the Saturday rideout, with police and fire brigades blocking major cross roads in some of the towns so that we went through. 130 bikes riding in single file takes a long time to get through anywhere. The event finished on Sunday morning, so I took the opportunity to see a bit of Poland, as I've never ridden there before. Rode up and stayed in Wrocław on Sunday, (a beautiful city) then onto Posnań for another night, and spent my last night in Poland at Swinoujście on their north-west coast, stopping at the Crooked Forest on the way.
On Wednesday rode on to Peenemünde in Germany to have a look in the U461 Russian submarine they have docked there. My late father-in -law started his life in the Navy, aged 17, on a U461before going on to end his career commanding nuclear submarines. Rather him than me....A ticket to go on board was €7, and the inside was much nicer than its exterior apperance. But very claustrophobic, even for me. This was also where the Germans developed the V1 and V2 rockets, one of which bombed out some properties in the roads backing on to where my nan lived in Forest Gate, East London.
Unfortunately I didn't have time to look around the museum there, but I will go back.
Returned via Germany and France, and finished with a 12 hour ride home from my last overnight stop in Maureillas, close to the French/Spanish border.
It did rain (heavily) on 6 of the days, heavy enough for my Hideout textile jacket to leak somewhat after 4 hours My Rukka trousers gave up after the first hour. They will go in the bin now, as they have totally had it.
The NC750 was fine. Well, apart from the battery being dead on the first Monday. A jump start got me going, but took until Tuesday afternoon, and finger crossing on starting up after refuelling. In Wrocław I found that the front brake pads had lost ALL of the pad material in less than 6000 kms. I expected better from Brembo Greenance too. Had to ride 200 kms to Posnań, rode in and out in less than 10 minutes.
Other fopars were putting my phone in an inside jacket pocket and geeting it waterlogged. 36 hours in a bag of rice saw it working again (hence the distinct lack of photos!).
And then my TomTom 550 Rider stopped charging north of Millau, both on the bike and via a USB cable used in the apartments. It may well need a new battery after 6 years and recording 73,000 miles of riding.Phone taped to thetank top meant at least I could find the apartment on the Saturday night, in a village I had never heard of prior to booking it.

Dodging the showers today,or at least attempting the near impossible.

Yesterday morning was supposed to go for ride with pal and customer, but missed up the meeting
I know his usual routes but couldn't spot him so went for a play.
Lovely 3 hours
In evening had to nip over to see Penny at her donkeys sanctuary.
5 miles by road but took the fun way.
Hour each way
Then another 5 hours with the lads today
I'm doing something right

Back from a weekend at Newton Stewart, Friday night and Saturday night.
300 miles and avoided the rain, just as well as I’d forgotten my waterproof trousers.
Only grrrr moments were running into road repairs (and I use that term loosely) spraying tar down and covering it with loose chips.

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
Had a spin on the Street Triple today.Rode to Youles Triumph in Blackburn as I wanted to have a look at the Tiger Sport 800 & 660.I like the look of them but the Street Triple owes me nothing so I'm sticking with the Street Triple.
After negotiating Blackburn I went to one of my favourite places, the Trough of Bowland.

I then took the Scorton road before heading back, down the A6.After the recent rains,as well as the usual potholes there were a lot of random patches of loose gravel & mud on the back lanes

I'm usually on these roads with my mates,it was a nice change to be on my own on the bike, well apart from riding through Blackburn

I came across this 59 Triton when I was out and about this evening.
