Re: interesting bikes found randomly..
I aint not never seen a road registerd MGS before.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185616670521
If a punter can get it though an SVA (or whatever they call it these days), makes you wonder why MG never made a road going version?
Look like MV mirrors with the indicators built in, a side stand (from another Guzzi with a similar engine), a crappy tail tidy and some head lamps behind the front mesh.

Not a fan of that, whatever it is. Swinging arm and rod above it are hideous.

Shaft drive innit, the rod is to stop it squatting when you wind the power on, iirc.

Yup - the Parallelagrammo system invented by Arturo Magni for Moto Guzzi in the 80s (iirc), and used by BMW on everything since about 1992.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 11:47 amShaft drive innit, the rod is to stop it squatting when you wind the power on, iirc.

Re: interesting bikes found randomly..
On the R259 series (1100, 1150) it was underslung, but they realised that ton the GSs it was vulnerable to damage (I think they broke one on a Dakar bike), so the 1200s and 1250s, and the across-the-frame Ks (since about 2004) have them over the top. (which was the original orientation IIRC).Taipan wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 11:56 amIIRC its underslung on BMWs and not so in yer face as on thatRockburner wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 11:54 amYup - the Parallelagrammo system invented by Arturo Magni for Moto Guzzi in the 80s (iirc), and used by BMW on everything since about 1992.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 11:47 am

Re: interesting bikes found randomly..
I took my Street Triple to one of my old wormate's bike shop to get the plugs changed. It's the only time in my life that I've got someone else to do the plugs, but there's a lot of tech around the airbox & I CBA with it all...
Whilst I was waiting I noticed this fully rebuilt old Ducati, they had some fun with it's Italian electrics & now it's waiting on the carb getting sorted

The engine is up on little legs!
Kawasaki Triple into Norton Featherbed has been done a few times. That’s better-looking than most.

Bad bits, forks, over long rear shocks
It would look better with spoked wheels
