As expected the tape is bolloxed. The rear tyre sealant used by the last owner has the consistency of evostix impact adhesive - just cleaned it of the edges but the is a thick coating inside the tyre. Never seen that before.
I had that with Orange seal, did an awesome job at sealing but was a bugger to clean out.
With tyres, Merlin have got good prices on some of the Conti tyres at the moment and if you're quick they'll send them out today...
Well, you start something and unfurl a can of worms
Went to fit the Pirelli back on but noticed that all the rubber on the shoulders of the tyre had crazed / cracked. So not prepared to rick my life on that
The rear wheel then had a buckle in it - which I think I have sorted.
With the rear tyre perished / cracked i thought I would check the front - looked fine pumped up, but deflated all crazed and looking like it was perished.
Now off to pay South Coast Bicycle shop tax for whatever front they might have locally!
I'd make time instead of spunking £150 on tyres that are not as good as Kryptos.
Where are you ?
Just north of Newbury.
Update on the crisis :
Fitted the Magic Mary to the front - it’s super gravity so a tad heavy but I will be coming down hills on it. Surprisingly it was only a semi bastard to fit.
That will do me for Morzine
Weeksy - send me a PM how much you want for the Kryptonal ? And what else do you have?
As suggested will do a buy from Merlin. Non radial Schwalbe 30-49 quid. Radial 65-70 quid.

Is radial worth it?
I'll go in garage and see what we've got mate, but I'm pretty sure there's 4-5 and an Argotal.
Any funds will go to the boy so call them £20 a piece.
Nowt wrong with a Mary though, good solid tyre choice
*ching ching ching* GRRRRR. I thought it was the rotor but in the end it was the pads being too low and the rotor catching on the bracket.
No worries i've got.... Errrrm No.... i don't have ANY Code pads... I've got 7 sets of MAven pads though lol. Had to shoot to LBS and get some new pads. Bought 2 sets of EBC for now. Fitted and silent.
Slashed the rear in Chatel, boo.
Broke the gear cable on day 3 over in Morzine so only had 1 gear for the rest of the day, but no big deal and quick fix when I got back to the van.
But today was last day of riding and coming down Vink line heard what sounded like the rear punctured but sealed quickly, unfortunately by the time I got to the bottom it had propper let go, back to van to fit a tyre plug but it was too big a hole, so called it and went back to campsite to stuff my face instead.
Dropped the motor out of the Evil (aka The Pella) to send to the motor grownups for TLC. Apparently if the motor is noisier in one direction compared to the other, it's a good indicator of tired bearings. Mine is definitely this so on its way to Barrow in Furness.

Driven it back 750 miles from the Alps
Could work out when the front end left loose on Monday - felt like it needed a headset spacer. Made no difference.
Turned it upside down - and the fork legs and stachions were fine.
The front axle was so loose it would have fallen out if I had ridden on Monday. I am a very lucky boy
Enduro Bearings Maxhitt BB fitted, first time fitment time consuming faff getting the spacers set up. New "preload"/"slack taker upper" fitted. Nice tip in the instructions to superglue the threaded bit to the crank spindle. New crank bolt fitted as well.
B Tension screw required adjusting so had to look up the "resurrections" on YouTube (uses a SRAM gauge)
Jobs a good un..........
........apart from the very dry and tired sounded rear wheel bearings......off to the grown ups for that then

Collected back wheel from LBS after total bearing replacement, a silent spin is golden!

It's the one I've mentioned earlier this week. Ride tomorrow to see if the creak has gone. Also paid the bill for the EP8 motor service and bearings (179 total so not too bad).

EP8 returned from E-Motor repairs. £179 later and a nice tight feeling motor with some new bearings. Re-fitted, which is a total faff as the wiring harness is naff and if you're not careful it's easy to pinch some of the cabling. Anyway, all bolted up with a new 36T chain ring, new jockey wheels and yay, no error codes on a quick test spin.
