We celebrated with a day's walking and a picnic in the Glens near Cushendun. Awesome views and my legs are walked off.

I got a bit carried away today. I found out the 4' aquarium I ordered was out of stock and refunded, now I'm looking at 7' aquariums instead as I have the perfect spot to put one. I know that's going to be a drain on my time and money but I can't stop myself.

A mixture of pride and bricking myself, my nerves were shot to shit.

He's decided he doesn't want the KTM now, he likes the Interceptor because it's an easy first bike, I think it's heavy and not what I'd have wanted as my first bike but he said it feels sturdy and the power is easy to manage because it's a plodder. So he'll use the RE for a few months until he decides what he wants.

I watched him do a couple of laps of the car park over the road so I could see he was ok, then let him loose.
That's fab !

Finally got the rear wheel and tyre back on to the DT. I watched them yesterday struggling to do it on a machine, failing and resorting to tyre levers. Despite being pumped up to 50psi it's still not quite seated properly.

Amusingly both tyres are marked >front>, it won't make my life difficult but it would have nice to have been told before I bought them.

Won't it affect MOT ?

I couldn't wait for my Son to get a bike on the road, despite my wife's continual protests, and got him a NRG scooter ped thing ready. But when he passed his CBT and went out on it I was bag of nerves. TBH I was relieved when he didn't pursue motorcycling and got into cars instead! Never thought I'd have said that, as I always had visions of us going out for long rides etc.

No comment. And possibly a sharp 6mm wood chisel.

The set I removed weren't marked <Not for highway use>.

I wonder if it's different for Potter having had his lad race MX for years. In the same way i don't think i'd worry with my lads MTB skills which will translate over.
I've absolutely no idea if my lad will ever show an interest, but wouldn't be a massive shock under the circumstances.

No mate, we’ve all got dead mates who were good riders.

My missus is worried he’ll turn out like me, in particular with bikes and the army, she’s seen the scars. In principle I’m with her but I have to let him be his own man now.

It’s a bit gut wrenching at times though.
Last week our lass went off to see her pal about 10 miles away.
It's the first time she'd ridden without me to coach her. It was on roads, so faster than our normal rides.

I was panicking till she got home.

I have an amazing 55' Philips 4K telly, but as all boys do, I want summat bigger and better. It's a huge room, so will take it.

I had in my head a 70" Philip's, but the salesman was very knowledgeable and steered us to a 65" QLED Samsung which was €150 more but 5" less.

When we said we wanted bigger, he took us to the 75" QLED. A few Bob more ;)

I still have anxiety, and have trouble making decisions.
But none of them look as good as my current one. I thought technology would allow a new 75" to be as good as 4 year old 55".

He picked a 4k video from YouTube that I watched at home before we went, for comparison.

I'm steering towards the bigger, but that's over €1,500.

Hmm. Let's see.

But then Mrs Y went in the music shop next door and looking at organs. She sat at the posh Yamaha leccy job and the owner let her play. Awesome. He could tell she was nervous, so he went outside for a fag, then she played easier. We agreed she could have one

I love her playing and when practising, she can use earphones :)

It's about same as the telly I wanted, so that gives me some leeway ;)

My day had the highs and lows of a rollercoaster!!

Email from the girl dealing with the lawyers on the 'case of the crooked garage owners' which was cryptic and stressed me out big time

Then, trying to sort some accounts paperwork which went ok

My phone messaged me to tell me that I had physio at 13:00 (I thought it was at 15:30) so I had half an hour to get there - it's a gentle 30-35 minute drive, but the time I got to the car and set out I had 25 mins - I made it :o :o

Only to find out that the appointment WAS at 15:30

So, having called a friend to say I would be late, I then called again to say I'd be on time!!

Got there and her husband had changed him appointment that afternoon so he could be there when I arrived later - only I was then arriving earlier, so I didn't see him

Caroline and I went out and sat in the garden drinking tea and chatting. Flipping awesome to be warm enough to sit outside and she is such a brilliant person that I still feel better for having had that tea!! I had set reminders in my phone so I would leave in time for the proper physio appointment.

Only, I had left the phone on silent (I put it on silent for the physio) so didn't hear it. Was late for physio

Got back in time for a doctor's appt to get a referral to a hearing specialist. and a prescription for physio for my right knee. But had a wobble so he asked how long I'd been depressed  Discussed options and he's letting me continue to try and deal with it - for three more weeks :(

Then home to cook a lush chow mein for tea. Fail to get hold of the girl dealing with the lawyer. Ate tea.

Then email from the girl - the lawyer is wondering whether it's worth proceeding as the bastard garage owner has closed the business and moved house, so no trace at the moment

FFS!!

One day things will get easier and better

One day!

(really, I just need a motorbike - then I will be able to deal with anything life throws at me!!)

Machine control is not the same as traffic sense :(
My youngest daughter is making noises about riding bikes and I'm really conflicted.

After looking at huge fish tanks something didn't seem right and I realised it would be like walking into a room where the TV is way too big, so I bought a 4' one from the shop down the road instead and he delivered it this afternoon.

The salesmen usually have targets to sell certain things on certain weeks, you're better off getting the one you want rather than the one he keeps trying to point you towards.

We got a big telly, but the salesman kept trying to steer us towards something else until I got cross with him and told him to leave us alone whilst we decided. He went off in a sulk and never came back and we got another salesman to sell us the one we wanted.
We asked him to look for MotoGP on YouTube then he played it on all 3 TVs and let us watch them all to compare. They all seemed a bit iffy.

Then same with a 4K New York drone video.
Then he stopped them all at 3:18 and let us walk between all 3 TVs and inspect the picture close up.

No pressure.. None really blew me away.

They must be better than my 4 year old jobby, but last night mine still blew me away.

Hmmm.

Are yer sure this is Ireland? I've been staring at this for 15 minutes and I still can't see the little leprechaun in the green velvet suit
The little tourist hunting shite became uncharacteristically shy when his request for photgraphic payment was refused. It seems he was right when he claimed if he wasn't in the shot, folk wouldn't believe it was Oirland. :P
