Re: What bike?
Have fixed are you on a GSXR11?
Is a bloke over on PBForum selling a pretty minty looking 2003 ZX9 that only has 6k miles on from new for £2795- looks like a good un if you like that sort of thing - I did and preferred it to the early Blades, quite good for big fellas too

Re: What bike?
Nope, I don't drink, I appreciate the ZX9 has no pink stripes so won't appeal to a big Barnsley bummer like yourself, but for £2500 you've got a practically new 180mph bike.

FWIW I'd stick with the Gixxer purchase, or at least see how it goes. They may be twats but it looked like a decent bike and your statutory rights give you a fair degree of protection. I understand it must be fucking frustrating though.

Re: What bike?
So this turned up at work today, I was busy drooling over a genuine XR69 on the workbench and this rolled in.
I thought of you Mr Bob so went to see the owner to ask him if it was for sale, he had on an owners club too so I knew the answer but I did try and he said nope.

Re: What bike?
Did the XR69 have a frame made by Suzuki, the real ones did, and are extremely rare.

Re: What bike?
When I was in the trade we'd only do visible things before a sale. Once sold it would go through the workshop and be prepared for sale mechanically and a new MOT if needed. Main reason for this was we'd often we'd trade sell cars to turn stock over and you'd have wasted your money if you'd already prepped it for sale.Yorick wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 3:48 pmSo the buyer can take it away without any surprise delays.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 2:53 pmThey MOT them when they sell them, its normal practise.
I suspect this bike has been in a collection and unused for at least five years, why would it have a current MOT?

That's either an E or F model, one of the later variations of the 98 ZX9R C1. They came a bit shell suity.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 7:01 pm I remember the sky blue and bright green 'Tea Tray' ZX9's, but not that one.

Re: What bike?
I've just had a google.
I remember when they changed it to have a tea tray air intake, but I though that was it. The F model was a last hurrah I guess before the ZX10 came out and it's actually quite different!
E
F

Re: What bike?
I've just had a look on the gov MOT checker to see if they got round to it this weekend and forgot to tell me.
They didn't.
But if they do MOT it tomorrow it will be 8 years to the day, that the last one expired!
I'm going to take that as some kind of omen... the good type, not the 666 tattoo type.

Re: What bike?
Just had a call from Rite Bike...
It has an MOT!!!!
He listed the work...
Two new tyres
New battery
New chain and sprockets
New pads front and rear
Carbs ultrasonically cleaned
All caliper seals replaced
Front caliper pistons replaced
New plugs
Clutch slaves seals replaced
Oil/filter
Logged 17.6 workshop hours.
It's going for a post MOT check up (I guess to make sure none of the bits they've replaced are falling off) and they're going to ring me when it's ready to pick up.
Shame I can't pick it up until the weekend!
