I know - but I'm not sure my mother will go that far!!! TBF, it's partly because I was going to go and see her if I went for my nephew's birthday, so this way she can make sure I visit!!

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
I messaged my goddaughter to see if she could meet me on Tuesday, fully expecting a no, but it's the only day I have free time at the mo!! She couldn't be asked about the rest of the plans and now she and her fiancé will meet me in Bristol and drive me to other friends in Wells.
Thought that was my main happy for the day but -
got back home and she called me! Video chat. First time we've spoken in AGES, probably years. And the first time I've 'seen' her in forever!! Chatted for 2.5 hours.
I'm grinning like a total loony and am extra happy cos on Sunday we get to have real hugs and do more chatting and catching up!!
Apart from no phone, today is a GOOD day

This makes me happy - not as happy as if it was snowing on my mountain, but hey - seeing it getting closer is COOL

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Getting a surprise visit from the Gremlinette late last night.
As it's freshers' week, and she'd had enough alcohol for the week, she looked at the train times and grabbed a cheap ticket down to Euston where her boyfriend drove to pick her up (Mug!!).
Sitting having a chat at midnight last night. She did have a little cry and told us that she missed us. I did remind her that she'd only been gone six days.
She plans to go back on Saturday, so I might take the train and tube up to Euston with her to keep her company and make the most of the time we have together until the next time she comes down...which is next week as it's her birthday. We used to see less of her when she lived here....

Broadway Car Park in Maidenhead, Berkshire, was closed in December, after moisture in cracks caused concrete to fall from the ceiling.
Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) council's cabinet voted to demolish the building after a report suggested the 1960s structure was "beyond its economic life".
Council officers recommended that the 40-year-old building should be demolished to eliminate any risk to public safety.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Snow on 'my' mountains yesterday morning as I left!!
Bloody gorgeous, and very close to being in resort!!
Skies were a bit grey, but as my mate picked me up, they were starting to clear so there'd have been a brief time of blue skies and snowy mountains before the snow melted!!

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
I'm riding at Portimao next week, but unlikely that the rear tyre will last the 3 days on track and all the road riding.
So need to buy a tyre in Spain or Portugal before the event.
Last night I Googled bike shops in Sevilla and Portimao and emailed 7 shops.
1 replied within half hour. Needs 2 days notice.
And 4 others have replied before I woke up. All positive.
Nice change from UK where shops never reply to emails.
That's one off the worry list

Why is the dual sport person carrying a spare leg?
(Not to mention there are no women riders ).

Gave blood today...always gives me a warm feeling, its a charitable act which is very hard for someone else to misdirect, misappropriate etc. Short of giving your time it's hard to be more direct.
Today though I felt especially warm cause my bag got a blue tag...

We’ve noticed that a fair few of you are proudly posting pictures of your blood bags emblazoned with the ‘NEO’ label on our social media pages. And proud you should be. After all, those bags have been specially marked up to show that they’re to be used for newborn babies.

If you read the T&C's you're not supposed to give blood if you've ever had bum sex.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2023 1:14 pm Yeah #noshame.
