I got out for a 30 mile spin on the SV,still 'tweaking' the front end.It feels a bit ponderous manouvering at low speed so I'm going to drop the forks a few mm in the yokes to see if that'll sharpen things up a bit.

Image

Now that I've fitted a 'O' Ring to the fork leg I can see how much travel I'm using,it's not blowing through all the travel but even though the bike's only done 1500 miles the steering heads knocking on big bumps :wtf:
It's been lovely & hot around here so I got to wear my vented Revit jacket.Top jacket for hot conditions

I actually rode my bike to the dealer for an MOT and service yesterday. Forgotten how much of a faff getting boots, helmet, gloves, jacket on is. In total and the journey was about 4 miles and included a section of dual carriageway. Thing that struck me was how bloody quick the thing is. Christ knows how fast the new stuff is. I did notice that an M sport S1000r was £25k though, cheese us.

Maybe the tyre profile is more stable than quick steering?

Several different things can add up to give a feel.

The bike holds a line & steers as it should, but there's a vagueness when you initially tip it in at low speeds From what I've read the tyre profile is 'odd',something to do with the rim size & those in the know go up a size to get a better profile.I watched a YT video discussing it & I've seen it mentioned in SV forums. For the moment I can live with it,I'll just try to improve things a bit until the tyres wear out.
My other SV,a Gen II pointy has narrower rims & that bike's steering geometry feels spot on.

I went for a spin with a couple of my mate's earlier,to the local bike meet venue.I prefer it when it's not bike night, nice & chilled.

I was on the Street Triple today,my mate was on his new to him Hyabussa,it's only done 3000 miles & it's immaculate.

Colour co-ordinated :D

Our other mate was on his sons CCM Blackout

I went out with some lads from Bala a few years back, one chap was on his 2nd Hyabussa, loved them. I followed him, within a group of 6 ish. He seemed to have a hell of a job getting it around bends. He was having to move all his body over to make the bends. Looked hard work. I've never rode one. 🤷🏻‍♂️

They're like a fat, more uncomfortable and cumbersome GSXR. The only trick they used to have was the big number game. I was glad to hand it back. The brakes struggled with the weight too.

I found my ride on one a bit dull. Just showed big numbers on speedo.

I had my K3 at the time I took a run on the Hedge-Abuser. I'd take any GSXR1000 in preference to a Busa.

It's the 2nd one he's had,he p/x'd the other older one for this.We take the piss out of him about Hyabussa's & refer to them as barges, but we also take the piss out of our mate who was riding the CCM today as he's usually aboard a GS :D
I think the main reason he bought the Bussa is so that his wife can go on the back, she says it's comfy. He also runs a 1200 Bandit, these days she struggles climbing aboard the Bandit. We're all getting old...

I like that it looks different & it's light, should be fun on our back lanes, but my mate wouldn't recommend it,he reckons it vibrates to much.He preferes to get his thumper fix on his 500 bullet.

I've only ever ridden one CCM, i think it was an R30?

Calling it a road drill with wheels would be a kindness.

A nice early run for 3 odd hours before the rain sets in. I also thinned the bird population by one. The poor little bugger made some mess when it turned inside out. :(

250 miles ish chasing Adam around the Yorkshire moors and back roads in company with his missus , MAC (formerly of VD) and one of their mates on his brand spanker CBR600RR. I bet his wrists are sore tonight from the more “challenging” back road choices …. Superb fun and fast riding in good company

Wouldnt be an Abel rideout without some water and Simon getting his new bike wet ;)

I wouldn't touch anything with that engine, anything that needs a new cam chain every 6000 miles is best avoided.

That looks special........needs!
Looks like it was designed by a 10yo, and as captain fermented milk said, that motor is best avoided.

Another day chasing Abel around the countryside with a couple of changes of personnel in the group but fast and safe from start to finish. Got back to Norfolk at 3pm and need to get on the net and order some new tyres and I seem to have knackered the current ones now :)

Almost 700 miles since Friday afternoon so good way to spend a weekend and good laugh all the way through
