Oliver's Army annoys me somewhat:
"Oliver's army is here to stay
This army is stationed as a military unit.
"Oliver's army are on their way"
They advance as a large number of soldiers.
Also poetic licence: the writer thinks it has a better rhythm.

Luckily for him, the record buying public was just as wrong.

Is Oliver's army singular or are Oliver's army plural. Make up your bloody mind, Elvis.
You ought to start a new thread, 'Song lyrics that annoy SL'. Might it run to some length?

Package arriving via Royal Mail today, I got a text from them saying when it’s arriving and if I’m not going to be in follow the link to see delivery options. So follow the link and input all my details to be told delivery options are not available on this package!

After switching the computer off I thought: I should have said "He was a writer of wrongs".
The French have a phrase for it: l’esprit de l’escalier, which is especially appropriate as I thought of it as I was going upstairs to bed.

Listening to people on the radio, pronounciation of words is getting worse...
Facts are now facs, or maybe just call it fax.
Secretary is now secratree, or even sometimes secachee
Lots of ter instead of too.

It's nearly as bad with spelling.

Americanisms.
Have been watching draining the oceans and the narrator says nukelar.
I thought only mericans were unable to pronounce nuclear.

I like the idea of radio clocks, those ones that use a broadcast signal to keep perfect time. I don't like the reality as when they go wrong it's big, my clock currently says it is 16:15 on Sat Feb 3rd.

Email from Decathlon:
The beginning of the year is the perfect time to get back into cycling. It’s great for your mental and physical health, so harness the power of peddling and get back to it.
If you're peddling pedalling stuff, shouldn't you know the difference?

Docudramas, stop twisting hstory to give it a woke angle and put some more effort into the script to get favourable reviews.
Hopefully this will make them rethink it a bit.

Bloody IKEA.
Just sat in the sun on the front steps with a cold beer.
I'd forgotten that Mrs Y had toddled off to IKEA a couple of hours ago.
Well, she just turned into the drive and the wheels were nearly scraping the wheel arches
Took her 10 minutes to unload the bloody car. Her in IKEA is like me in Screwfix

Other forums who claim to have 200,000 members, but get 5 posts a day.
I know all apart from about 0.5% of them are spam members not actual posters.
But anyone looking sees us at 502 and thinks "what's the point" but we as a forum are incredibly active as you all know.
I do wonder how many people it puts off though.

I'm sure it puts a few people off, but when I look at other forums I tend to look at how many and when the last posts were, so I look at the amount of traffic/ posts going through there?

Ditto
I've happened across a forum, then seen it's not had posts for years. Read anything interesting and move on. If the members are that inactive then anything you post is a statement not a conversation.
