Didn't the passport office go on strike for some absurdly long time this year too?
Maybe they're working to rule.

New passport arrived today. That's less than a week week from submitting the application on line to receiving the new passport. And Monday was a public holiday.
What is this country coming to when you can't even complain about a government department dragging their heels?
A few years ago I renewed mine from here. Was bloody impressed that it took about 2 weeks from sending the application to getting the passport here in France!
(The Irish one was quicker tho!! LOL)

I'd heard loads of times about the 2 stroke noise, but I had no idea they said "Yeaaaah!" as you pulled away.

Near the end of the month is their time. I've one to do at the back too. That'll be a day wasted.

I had a hanging tile come off the house a few weeks back. I've been meaning to pop into a builders' merchant to get a pack, even though I only need one. Walking the dog yesterday I saw one laying on the pavement. I picked it up and took it home, measured it and bugger me if it isn't the right size and
almost a perfect colour match.

Woohoooo
Nope - WOOOOO blooming HOOOOOOO
Got an email from the driving licence agency over here today, asking me to send my UK licence
After a year of sending various documents (and just failing to interact as it was just one more thing stressing me out!) to prove that my legal name is the name on both passports, the uk driving licence and two french official cards that I'd sent copies of!! They still wanted my birth certificate (which is all but useless now as has the wrong name on it!!)
But - looks like I'll be Frenched up in a few weeks

(although the photo I sent them for the licence is diabolical!!)
(Downside now is that I'll have to be even more careful about cameras as now I'll loose points AND have a fine!!!)

Having a beer with Elvis the killer dog with us.
A young Spanish family came to see Elvis and kept saying burrito. Was a bit confusing but we just smiled.
After they left a pal came over and apparently they were saying perrito
Means puppy

He's 12

I learnt a new French word this summer 'Mignon' it means cute. Probably directed at my dog but maybe it was for me?

I meant to mention, I stayed at a place in Portugal recently, nice owner, with a very sweet dog also called Elvis! Really couldn't tell his age, other than he was really slow ( I thought he was just being cool

) but apparently he was 15.

The youngest has a thing of waking up early on the first day of term to get dressed & ready. It's become a tradition.
She started 6th form/college today and sent me a snapchat of her in her 1st day outfit at half three this morning.
I'll be asleep within two hours.

Saw the CEO of my bank in the office yesterday. Asked him nicely if he could find some time to record a video reciting snippets of lyrics that I could play at the next quiz night in October. He laughed and said he thought it was a great idea and would do it and round up other board members too.
S'not what you know, etc. etc.
