Super duty can do 14000lb/7 tonnes but that's basically a commercial vehicle. As your man says, towing capacity is gonna be massively influenced by the structure of the vehicle, I.e. you have to build the car for it. If you don't expect people to tow 7 tonnes you're just not gonna make the car strong enough, there's no point. Waste of metal.

Doesn't really matter though, the powertrain isn't what's setting these weights as above. Its' the rest of the vehicle, so the suspension, the chassis/body, tow hook up points etc. No-one is gonna design a car to tow 7 tonnes unless they expect it to be used for that.

For example, the Tesla Cybertruck is gonna have a towing capacity of 7-14,000lb, much like a Ford truck, 'cause they expect it to be used for that sort of duty.

No, there are no *big daddy* F150's. There are F150's that can tow 7 tons.

The *big daddies* are F250, F350 & F450 Super Duty's
F250: 13,800 to 22,000lbs
F350: 13,800 to 23,900lbs
F450: 25,000 to 30,000lbs (Gooseneck rating on a F450 is 40,000lbs)

I put about 5000lbs of concrete pavers in my F350 & it compressed the suspendies about an inch.

This has caused me some thought when I've considered getting an EV with home charging. Ideally a charging socket at the back left is ideal but if it isn't there then do I need a stupid long heavy trip hazard of a cable or do I get creative with my parking, should I get extra charging points fitted so I can always park neatly and not cause people to fall over?

I can't remember if I've commented on this previously, but I've had a Zero SR/F for about six months now, and it's spaztronically good. In my forty years of riding it's the best and easiest bike I've ever ridden. Fast as fuck, 140ft/lbs of torque all available from the tiniest twitch of the throttle, the acceleration is relentless and almost unreal with no gear changes. My darling wife has na early new BMW S1000XR, R1250RS or KTM640 to choose from, and she nearly always nicks my Zero (if I'm not out on it,) it's that good, especially when doing IAM masters tests. She can hear what gear they're in so can tell whether they're doing IPSGA properly And you can fill up for free at Asda

How you finding the range/charge time balance?

Average range on a mix of roads is between 120-140 miles. Less on motorways (no regeneration) more on back roads or in town/traffic.
On a fast charger it'll go from empty to full in about 90 minutes, a normal one about 2.5 hours, three pin plug about 4-5 hours.
It would make a great commuter (work? fuck that!) and you could quite easily tour on it with a bit of planning and about 300 miles a day. For me it's basically a toy though, 80 odd miles out on a sunny Sunday, recharge for a bit and have lunch then back again being typical.

It takes longest to charge (for free) at Asda though, because you can't get away, people queue up to talk to you about it!

Is it heavy?

Yes and no. It's physically tiny but weighs a bit over 200kg. However the weight is all so low down it feels like it weighs much less very, easy to manoeuvre, especially at low speed. 0-60 is a shade under 3 seconds (or 1.6 seconds on a Dyno )

I was persuaded to go for a test ride on an open day sort of thing, I had my Ducati head firmly on, muttering "I'll hate this" I came back grinning and within a week had traded in my Diavel
