How loud is that pump and max PSI? I have a small 12v compressor pump that does up to 150PSI and it dont half make a racket. I use it for my camperbus suspension and can be quite noise when at camp sites if i need to leave early.

It's fairly quiet. A bit on the slow side, but who's in a rush ?

The bus is only two small air bags say about 6lt and only need 65PSI so would probably do the job. Just my 12v thing apart from noise is a faff getting it out the box, unrolling the long cable to reach the 12v outlet, do the deed then same in reverse so aye, I may put one of these in my must buy list

Ach what did you show me that for. I was going to wait till later in the year but had to order it at that price
Bit less power at 120PSI than my noisy pump but it also says 12lt per minute so thats a lot faster than what i have also.

Oddly the cordless thing bothers me a little,I'd prefer a plug in jobbie.

Ya gotta buy a battery and charger too. That might be ok for some if it shares a battery with other tools,but my cordless stuff is DeWalt,which kinda makes it less of a bargain for me.

I already have a few of them tools with three genuine and three Chinese batteries. This is only for when away in the camperbus as cables are a pain as the 12v outlet is in the front with suspension valve up the back and six tyres (Seven counting spare) to get around.

Was funny when a mate called me late last night with a flat tyre.
Pumped up a 180 tyre from flat to 42 PSI in a couple of minutes.

I looked at mains powered ones. I don't know if I was looking in the wrong places but, the price

V tempted by the Makita one. I do appear to have 5 that plug into the cig lighter type though.

So much easier with the right tools, just have to work out how to remove the bearing on the other side I broke with the wrong tools now.

Festool OF 1400 router. Mines the 110 volt version with a yellow site rated plug though.

New toy arrived



Even with a cheap Chinese copy battery it did as it says on the tin. Van tyres were all low (Mid 40psi) so took them all up to 58psi in no time and my spare was only 17.5 so that took a tad longer but way quieter than the 12v one what will get relegated to the wifes car If i was to pick a fault it could have done with a trigger lock.

They are only cheap if you already have the battery. I have three genuine and three Chinese copy's. Last genuine i got was 5Ah and was about £70

I picked up a cheap n nasty honing guide and a range of wet and dry paper from 120 through to 5000 grit

I’ve spent an enjoyable time fettling a couple of old wood chisels using a small piece of 18mm MDF from the garage as a flat plate under the wet and dry.

With the first chisel, I had to start with a 40g sanding belt to get rid of a nail divot and a slopey bevel, gradually worked through the grades up to 800grit on the primary bevel, then on the second bevel up to full 5000 grit, 10-15 strokes per grade, with the end result of a fairly polished second bevel which could shave the hair on my arm. That level of sharpness is a first for me.

Second chisel just needed 10-15 strokes per grade to re-establish a clean primary and the same to get a hair shaving edge on the second.

Just need to work my way through my other chisels and planes now

Would you not be quicker buying a razor?
