Is the spoke lacing a bit odd or haven't I been paying attention to spoke arrangements?

The swappable battery / remove to recharge concept will only be practical for smaller machines and range. Go much bigger and you'll need a hoist or forklift to shift them.

I'd never heard of Cushman but they started making 'trucksters' and scooters to increase use of their industrial/agricultural 'Husky' engine
Kept going in one way or another until 2002.

Battery box is quite slim so, depending on controller gubbins, it could probably be reformatted as a step-thru frame, or even to give luggage storage space.

Here's another Cushman, with its frock off. Just look at the size of the rear sprocket!

How about a Honda flat twin! (The predecessor to the Juno if I understand correctly). Can't lift the images off this French chat site - 'Flatistan motards' - for some reason but there's a few interesting pics in the thread. @Noggin can translate.

Google suggests it's just a NC30 with an NSR400 engine.

I only know the fore & aft flat twins / fours that were power boat engines
