Very blowy today, but nice when the wind was behind me. :D Quite mild and dry and the roads were quiet,so I'll take that for now.

Took the little one out for half hour to warm it up ready for gear oil change .
Takes a whopping 950mls to fill.

I like those - well - everything apart from the engine. I always found they felt like they were running rough. No idea why! The 1150 engines didn't feel that way, only the 1100s.

Agree, it has a different feel to my old Rockster. I do like the old bus though..

I have the usual bits to do to see if it changes things - valve gear lash, valve clearances, Jon Gemi chip, TB balance etc. Once it's off idle it's fine, just those first 500rpm or so.

Those engines do respond well to some simple tidying up of the tuning. Do you have the BMW workshop manual? (the halfords/clymers are the usual standard...).

I've never tried a Gemi chip - but may well get one for whichever Rockster I decide to keep once I've got the Ed80 running.

I've got a PDF of the BMW one somewhere, seemed to be pretty concise plus the Boxertrix and Facebook group resources always help.
I had a JG chip in the Rockster, made a decent difference to be fair as that also had a decat.

I can't seem to get onto Boxertrix, :( It's always throwing database errors.

Another little window of dry and sunny. Windy as hell, though.
The Masonic lodge could do with a tidy up,maybe they're waiting for a dry spell too!

A dry day, after the torrential grey woes of yesterday. Be rude not to make some smoke.

It stopped raining for most of the day,so I got out on the new SV, first time in Summer gloves this year
The road surface's on the back roads around here are in a terrible state, but at least the puddles were receding by this afternoon. The main roads are not as muddy / covered in loose gravel but contain big F off potholes..

Image

Soon after I got home It started raining again, non stop for the last few hours,if it gets much worse I might fit some semi nobblies :wtf:

It s rural around here & most of the back roads are glorified farmers tracks. Clip on's aren't the best ergonomics...
