After the wheel repair stuff i then wanted the correct rubber on the correct wheels.

Which amazingly meant swapping 5 tyres round. The compressor paid for itself in 1 morning ! So so much easier.
So we've now got the Conti DH on the Hunts for him. I've then got XR4 and XR5 pairs for me.

I do still need to work out some ideas on what rubber i run with long term for my 'techie trail' stuff and get some ordered up at some stage.

This is one of the 'Continental' series, which is the feeder series for World Cups. If you do exceptionally in these (Top 3) you get Wildcards at World Cups. Currently we've applied for the World Cup series GB Jerseys, but scoring highly at these give you full access rather than 'maybe' access.
However the downside being, it's only 3 weeks before the race in South Korea and likely to cost us £1000 to get over and back and race etc. Korea is expensive enough without adding in another £1000 into the mix.

But it also COULD be the event that the GB guy looks at in terms of results for deciding who goes to Korea.... Of course there's also the fact it could be a brilliant time and lots of fun for him. But of course the downside is, it could be £1000 wasted out of a limited budget

If anyone goes near a magazine shop and sees the March Edition of MBUK, apparently there's a DMR advert in there that may be interesting to me. I don't really go anywhere that has magazines very often, so if you're passing and see it, a pic would be great as i'm curious now

If anyone has library membership and the Libby app they may be able to view the mag and screenshot the pic.

It appeared to be available on mine but when I tried to subscribe/view it I eventually got the message 'Your library no longer subscribes to this publication'. Bum. I thought I'd cracked the challenge.

It's OK, i'm going to shoot to Tesco shortly as i'm up in Feltham today installing some new kit

The wonky DMR font ? It's kinda their 'thing'.... I quite like it, but i'm very biased about that as you'd expect.

Kit looks amazing actually. We need to sort out an Instagram for him when it arrives.

I understand it is part of the “brand”. The unevenness of it would drive me round the bend. Too many years in Marketing

Still waiting for the new kit to land. It will hopefully get to make it's full debut at the BikeParkWales 'not a race' day. Which if you recall from this time last year is an invitational event for pro/semi-pro/influencers. It's a great thing as not only does he get to mix with some superstars, but he also gets to put himself against them and the clock on the Atherton.
Training is in full pre-season swing now and we're getting ready for the exciting times this year will bring.

Loved it from day 1 and feels super fast... but until we put it between 2 beams... we don't exactly know yet we assume and hope he's got the speed, but everyone else looks stupid fast out there too.

Back at it tomorrow as he's coaching a pile of Enduro racers along with Katy. Will be interesting to see how that goes as he's obviously quite young and i don't know what the dynamics will be like.
I think we've then got Sunday off from riding.

He'll be back on the big bike next weekend though as we're at Dyfi both Sat and Sun.

Thanks mate. It's a weird twist for him as he's raced in blue for 5 years now, so to be in something different is a bit weird. But him/we are trying to build something of a brand i guess with all UK brands and sponsors and all of his supporters tick that box now. There's going to come a time after racing that we still want 'stuff' in return for media and this is partly why we're taking some of the deals he's on now rather than some others. Supporting the local stuff and the UK stuff is a good thing and things like the kit are all made in the UK.

There was an interesting update from British Cycling yesterday, which kinda implied they're making the qualification for the National jersey harder. It's a slightly ambiguous thing in their terminology, but if you read it, you could certainly see how that's the case. But it's something we can't do a lot about, we've submitted our application and we'll see where/how it goes.

We're back out on the DH bike this weekend. 2 days at Dyfi for him with some mates, although how much will be riding with said mates, i don't know. He's still quite insular and very much a rider who spends more time alone on the hill than riding with mates. I still don't fully get that, but i guess by the fact that 95% of my riding is solo, implies he way get some of that from me

I like solo riding as it hides all my embarrassing gaffes from my mates (if yesterday's epic ineptitude was anything to go by).
