Re: In todays news...
Why didn't the person at the centre simply tick the box on his behalf? Simple solution to an arse of a respondent.

Reading about Dame Kelly Holmes coming out as gay.
Why is this 'news'? Why should anybody care who she is attracted to? Why does she feel the need to tell everybody?
Don't get me wrong, if she's happy then I'm happy for her as one human to another, but really, does anybody care?

Both myself and my wife thought she had "come out" a few years ago, but neither of us cared enough to look it up, I remember when people kept their private lives private.gremlin wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 10:34 am Reading about Dame Kelly Holmes coming out as gay.

Re: In todays news...
Cause they're dealing with a service which takes part of your body so there needs to be no possibility/argument that it was non consensual.
Of course its daft and pedantic, but you can't make medical decisions on someone's behalf can you? If I was an NHS nurse I wouldn't want to accept the responsibility for making that decision for someone else. I imagine they have the requirements/rules about filling in medical records drilled into them on a daily basis.
I suppose they could have got Doctor in to verify that said person wasn't pregnant, but theyd need consent or a court order to perform that examination.
Or he could have just answered the Q

Re: In todays news...
I'd forgotten she even existed TBH.
Come to think of it now though, I do have a random memory of her on a masterchef type programme. She sent her steak back cause it wasn't cooked well done. That is far more worthy of scorn.

The Trannies won't like the 'open' category when it becomes apparent that trans women are going to keep beating the trans men!BBC wrote:Fina will also aim to establish an 'open' category at competitions for swimmers whose gender identity is different than their birth sex.
Hopefully, cycling will be next but a flood of sporting authorities banning men from women's sport would be good.

I can imagine it's a big deal for her but does anyone else care? Stonewall won't even be interested unless she comes out as trans.Horse wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 12:06 pmIf what she says is true, she had to do that whilst in the army, during determined attempts to out her.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 10:39 amI remember when people kept their private lives private.

Re: In todays news...
Isn't it just likely that some daily paper or gossip website was about to out her anyway, so she did it first? She probably isn't that bothered about announcing it, but probably prefers that to some gossip columnist doing it for her?Mussels wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 6:01 pmI can imagine it's a big deal for her but does anyone else care? You won't have to wait long, I think cycling has already done it and now athletics.Saga Lout wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 10:43 am What took them so long?

It’s hard to visualise this “open” category ending up as anything other than a race for men who say they are women.Yambo wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 11:15 amThe Trannies won't like the 'open' category when it becomes apparent that trans women are going to keep beating the trans men!BBC wrote:Fina will also aim to establish an 'open' category at competitions for swimmers whose gender identity is different than their birth sex.
Would many people buy a ticket to see that?

Flat no - pregnancy is instant bar.
Of course, if he'd sincerely ticked "yes" he might have earned an evaluation in some other part of the NHS
