Another delivery today, well, part delivery anyway. Fork oil turned up, but no springs! They'll be along in another 10-21 days. WTF send the oil on its own? Oh well its cold out so not in a great rush to work outside doing them...

£19 centre stand bracket is awaiting customs charges to be paid. FFS, it'll end up costing more than the Fakerapovic!

I have to pay 7% tax on stuff from UK over 150€.

It can be a long job sometimes.

Import duties will be pennies but Parcelforce admin fee is about £18 I think?

Have you seen the post-Brexit thing about VAT? HMRC want all non-uk companies to register here, charge VAT, then pay it in (IIRC). Several companies have already said that they will no longer ship to the UK.

Ordered Thursday night, arrived this morning. Happy with that. I think I’m going to shelve the suspension upgrades for a week or two as I’ve barely ridden the bike and need to be more familiar with it, so I can compare the before and after iyswim?

Springs arrived! Nice packing! 🙄

Sadly I have to work today but I’ve had a change of mind and the springs/oil and rear shock are going in at the first opportunity!

Due to an unexpected change of plan at work, i'm not working tomorrow now. I've just checked the weather and its not raining and relatively mild. Sounds like I'll have a days spannering ahead of me tomorrow! :D

Looking forward to doing the springs particularly. Been along, lomg time since I've done such a job! Air gap is set with springs out, forks compressed right...

Well, the rear shock swap went well. Only annoying things were I removed the whole linkage to clean and lube the linkage bearings. To do this I had to take the exhaust off and put it back on. This is annoying as if I had the centre stand bracket, I could have put the Fakerapovic on whilst i was about it. Also, i had to take the new rear shock protector off and I cant find my large cable ties to put it back on. So unless I do, they'll be crap over my new shock within miles! Anyway, the new shock is in and that's good news.

Just starting on removing the forks and the 2 out of the 4 four allen bolts holding the mudguard on are rounding off! I'll probably be able to tap a torx bit in and get them off, but I don't have any new ones to replace them and I obviously don't want to put the chewed up ones back in! Also, I currently have a lower back injury which is also trying to defeat me, so rather than cripple myslef for the next few days/week, i may shelve the fork service and wait until the new mudguard bolts are here? I was enjoying doing the job though and looking forward to trying the results, so i'm having a brew and will see how I feel afterwards...

It only take one rounded/sheared screw to make a 20 minute job last 3 weeks.

Lolz, it was certainly looking that way. Started spitting with rain so I abandoned it anyway. I'm more pissed off that I can't find my large zip ties than i can't do the forks. Its the little things that are the bastard annoyiung ones!

When I removed the silencer, I wondered why it had a car exhaust clamp on it. I soon found out as the end section fell apart when I removed it. D’oh!

The smart amongst you will note that in the picture said broken exhaust is on the floor, yet there is one fitted? How can this be you might wonder? Well when I had my 750 I fitted a sp racing end can and when I sold it I didn’t give the OEM silencer to the new owner and stick it in the loft. Handily huh! :D

I rode the bike to London and back today and to start with I was thinking i'd wasted my money on the shock! Reason is the front is so harsh, the jolt through the bars stops you getting the chance to feel what the back end is doing! However, once I got to the white line markings for speed cameras and cats eyes etc, I knew straight away it was much better than the oem one as you barely feel them. So hopefully that's a win?!

When riding it today it occurred to me that I hadn't fitted the handguards? That would be becuase my wife had tidied them away, so I'd forgottten about them! Got them in front of me now and will hopefully fit them tomorrow.

Got pissed off with waiting for Parcelforce's letter for my custom charges so I rang them. Nice lady confirmed it was sent out ages ago and had no idea why i hadn't received it, but furnished me with the needed 17 digit ref number and I went online and paid it and the exhaust bracket should be here tomorrow? Might even get the Fakerapovic on tomrrow! :D
