The screen grabnuts are notorious for falling through and putting a new one in is a lot easier than retrieving he old one. On the forums everyone advises to get spares if you're changing or just removing the screen as it's likely at least one will fall in.
But ...but .....but.......it's been main dealer serviced from new
I doubt the MD would bother to strip out the front end just to get one of those back! Honestly, its a known thing and people keep spares because of it.
