Makes more sense. tyres will puncture less, disc brakes, 1x11 crankset, good clearance etc. I thnk the M will fit you nicely unless i've mis-sized you.

I love my Condor Fratello but the one regret I have is not getting disc brakes on it, especially for town riding.

If puncture prevention is your thing I am one of those bores that will sing the praises of tubeless.
A few things you need to learn with them, but once you've done a few all season commutes with no punctures you end up singing from the rooftops and annoying anyone in ear shot about how great they are.

Not quite as easy on roadies as it is on MTB though ?

Yup, as per stuff you need to learn.
Get the rim taped up properly and ensure the valve is on snug.
Get an air tank to blast the air in, then spin to distribute the sealant and close any tiny gaps.
If it's being a pain to seal, a bit of soapy water around the wheel rim and tyre to encourage it.
Job's a good 'un.
I run it on two road bikes, don't get me wrong the learning curve was there but that's only because we're all so used to throwing an inner tube in, seating the bead and pumping. I initially got away without an air tank but then had a frustrating half hour trying to reseat a tyre one afternoon. Once I got the air tank never had the same problem.
Haven't had to resort to the soapy water trick but have it in the back of my mind if I need to as it's the tip everyone swears by.

I run tubeless on all my MTBs but thought roadies were trickier to do

Lime looks tasty.
I am 169cm or 5ft 7
So Small or Medium. But I’ve read it’s better to for the smaller it’s your between 2 sizes. I am going to go Giant in Camden and see what there saying and work out my size. Shame the lime has sold out

Ok, why on that frame, still trying to get my head round all this new to me stuff, I don’t want anything to extreme I think.
I've ridden a few PX bikes and their geometry is quite non-racy, espeically on the L-R which is designed as a super commuter type so quite relaxed, it's not a crazy reach and not crazy stem angles/length, so you'll fit a Medium well i rekon.

I had a bike fit, and the reach on my current bike is nearer to the small frame than medium. I'd rather stick a 10mm longer stem on a bike to 'fit' it properly than go for a bigger frame.
You have have longer arms for your size, more or less flexibility, etc, etc. Many things to consider. Think I'd rather be a bit more upright on a commuter, also.
Note on the mechanical discs: whilst I currently don't have any, I've ridden a bike with them. They're far simpler to set-up and, even with cantilevers, your limiting by traction from tyre and road, not stopping power. You'll be able to lock wheels with no bother.

Right, that makes sense, I feel I am quite small, I do t have long arms or legs, so Small Giant or a 53 cube is for me.

Right so spent quite a lot of time looks at bikes. Had a go on a mates cube drop bar, thinking it might not be the best for commuting for me.

Nice bike, but are you defo ruling out an ebay 2nd hand? You could spend under half that for something decent.

TBF for the money it's great value and you get a new bike. I'd probably go used too, but i'm a bit more cautious on spending on certain things.
The £500 used bike can easily turn into a £700 one when you find a few bits wrong etc.
