I have cleared away a lot from around the pond and took away a lot of the water lilies but the liner has a lot of black shit all over the bottom. She has some sort of Water Milfoil what the fish seem to like but it grows like wild fire and when i take some out you cant see the fish or anything else for that matter. Im all for draining it for a good clean and start again.

Don't get involved, you'll spend hours working on it but not achieving your goals. Little things can trip you up, that scum at the bottom may be the balance keeping everything else healthy. It will be easy for you to end up with a very unhappy customer.
Have a good understanding about the nitrogen cycle and fertilisers (especially toxic levels), ferts are the same as for land plants but can harm the fauna if you put too much of something in. Also some fertilisers fib on the packaging, if it says nitrogen or nitrates it might actually be ammonia which is very toxic to fish, copper is very toxic to crustaceans. Tread carefully.
