VW Campers?

I'd have loved a VW transporter type camper as it'd be a daily driver as well, but a camper without bathroom facilities is no use to me. If Mrs T needed the toilet there is no way she'd go traipsing across a dark campsite to use the facilities, which means I'd have to go with her and I'd not fancy doing that.

For me, campervans should basically be a drivable studio flat! They need to have a bed, bathroom, kitchen and lounge, albeit smaller versions. Even though I rarely use our campers kitchen and bathroom, having them there for when I have needed them has shown the versatility of a properly featured campervan. Anything less is a compromise that will get old quickly.

We were going to upgrade to a motorhome last year but talking with other motorhome owners put us off. Being that bit wider and longer really holds you back from travelling certain routes and parking etc and we've always liked the fact our one can get us pretty much anywhere we've wanted, with the odd exception.

No Mate, we have an Adria Twin Campervan. As I said we did start looking for a motorhome last year, but got put off due to the restrictions the additional size brings. I expect we'll do the same again this year...

Our rapido is 6.6, seats 4 around the table, big shower, loo, fixed rear bed, fridge freezer.
Only issue is can't go to Khanistan as ulez is £200 a day!

Its 5.98m and I just looked t the ulez checker and its £12.50 a day?

Ignore my commenst from earlier, I though we were talking real VW Campers - not the modern days transit type vans.

I went to Morzine and back in a VW T "something" camper. It was noisy, drank fuel, had a history of issues and wasn't a lot of fun to drive. But it did get 3 bikes into it

Easy to get, I have one for the bike. Cheap too, although I have no idea how much it would cost for a van.

Easy peasy to get hold of, about £4 from the French govt website. Afaik, only 10 or so cities require one, however Rouen is one, and if you come from Dieppe/Calais, highly likely you'll go through there!
