That time from Martin was impressive. I hope things are changing for Morbidelli,he must be in the last chance saloon now.

Quite impressive from Viñales too!
I missed most of it, only managed to watch the last 5 mins of Q2. It's a spicy couple of front rows.

Maverick, you little fucking beauty! First rider in the MotoGP era to win with 3 different manufacturers! I think we are in for a REALLY interesting MotoGP championship...

Re: COTA Motogp
I don't want to jinx the guy, but he's always had immense potential. Now he's won his breakthrough MotoGP race for Aprilia, I think he could do something special. He's such an open, unfiltered character that I really want to see him do well.
My other thought is, what did Fabio think when he saw his ex-teammate thump the rest of the field on a manufacturer's bike that he had earlier spurned?

That was some racing from start to finish in all three classes. Bonkers Moto3 and 2.

I've watched GP/MotoGP 50 years.
That was one of the best comebacks I've ever seen
From 11th to waste the field and make it look easy

Oh. Did you notice all the empty grandstands?
Even the viewing areas at turn 1 were very sparse.

Re: COTA Motogp
That's something Liberty intend to fix, apparently.
Expect a huge wave of social media bullshit to build up 'The Show'.
I know Liberty pay the wages of the TNT team, but the arselicks banged on endlessly about their saviours and how Motogp was going to be as good and as popular as F1.

Re: COTA Motogp
Well. Who's championship favourite now ?
I'd put Martin and Mav as favourites.
Closely followed by Pedro and MM
Beast and Bagnaia to falter.

I can't place MM anywhere.
For sure he's on a more capable bike but his head ain't where it needs to be

The crash was caused by brake problems. His riding is back to its best.MrLongbeard wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 11:40 am I can't place MM anywhere.

Hmmmm, if he knew he had the problem for the whole race he should have settled for a position further back rather than pushing it and coming off.To run at the front with the problem all race was truly incredible.
Yes I know that wouldn't be the mindset of a 'racer' but if he can't ride within the limitations of the bike it may come to bite him in the ass at the end of the season.
I'll have a fiver with you that he doesn't finish the season in the top 3....

Re: COTA Motogp
Given how Vinales has blown hot or cold in past seasons,I'd not be placing too much money on him just yet. Mind you,it's great to see.

Re: COTA Motogp
I'll be very, very interested to see how Mav goes at the next few rounds. Did he just have the perfect setup on the best bike for the tyres and the track? Will he be able to replicate that level of performance at other tracks?
All I know is that his head seems to be in a really good place (which is ultra-important for him) and that he and his crew chief have apparently found a setup that plays to all of his strong points. I was worried that his gearbox failure in the GP at Portimao might have undermined his confidence, but it doesn't seem to be so.
But to come from 11th at the start, pass everyone in front of him and then ride off into the sunset shows a serious performance delta over the rest of the field.

Re: COTA Motogp
My thinking as well....... right back to when he was a kid on the 125 and Moto 3 bikes he would be brilliant then his head would get the better of him. He even walked out on a team saying they were second rate before coming back a couple of rounds later with his tail between his legs eating humble pie.
His riding this weekend at COTA was superb and i hope he has finally "clicked" everything together but i wont be holding my breath just yet
