The Paton does nothing for me, I wouldn't fancy it at any money

I currently quite fancy this though

The Paton does nothing for me.

If I had £40k for a bike it would be one of these (though you may need to chuck in another £10k). The perfect steed for the discerning English Gentleman.

IIRC Potter liked his SS, this is just like a more special SS :)

and it's a £31k saving over the Paton.

If I was spending 40K on a Paton,I'd be looking for one of Signore Pattoni's old GP500 race bikes, not a ER5 engine in a twin shock chassis

I've had a good look at the Paton's in Krazy Horse and whilst on the face of it they are special, I can't get over the bog stock ER6 bits. Like the clocks and things like that when you poke about. I'm guessing cos Paton will be using a race clock on their TT bike so why bother, but when paying £40k I'd not want a happy shopper clock set.

Cut out the middle man and just set fire to a big pile of fifties.

Seriously, everyone I've ever known who bought one, got rid very quickly. 7k for a minor service.

No, but that's from apoint of ignorance of the brand as I've never heard of them and its not even a nice looking bike to my eyes.

Depends whether you buy a lemon, in which case it could be blisteringly expensive, but most owners tell me that if you buy a decent one and put £2-3k a year aside then you should be ok.

They’re appreciating nicely, I so wish I’d have bought the £55k F355 I looked at pre-Covid, the same car now would have a £100k screen price.

I don’t know if it’s like Landrover Defenders and whether they’re actually selling at the screen price but the advertised prices have gone way up.
If you're using it for a sunny Sunday toy, they're just about bearable, but the one thing they do have is that you can always find a good independent specialist to take care of them, the dealer rates are ludicrous.

Defenders, both old and that new Tonka looking thing are stupid money, there's very few affordable ones that don't need a total restoration. They certainly seem to shift a load of them though. All the farmers I know who had them have all went for Izuzus and Toyotas.

There's no good reason to buy a Ferrari, but then there's no good reason to buy that Paton either.

I suspect a canny choice of Ferrari can see you at least breaking even in the long run though. It'd have been an even more canny choice 4 years ago

Turns out I was in there today and had a look at the Paton …… it’s a lovely looking little bit of kit with some nicely made parts, but 42K :eh:

I'd take the Kramer all day long over the Paton. What a track day tool that would be... And you'd have £5.5k change.
