I was convinced he was Aprilia-bound as well. He must have seen something at Yamaha that convinced him to stay, and sign a two year deal at that.
So one piece of the jigsaw puzzle is in place. Who will Aprilia chase now - Jorge Martin? Marc Marquez? They really need a proven winner if they want to take the next step up.
Yes, I was thinking that Enea would be a good fit. Realistically there aren't that many others who are as good as or better than Aleix and Mav, so it's a small talent pool. But I'm not sure Enea has quite the killer instinct that both Jorge and Marc have. Aprilia really need a Big Dog to make the next step.
It will be very interesting to see how COTA pans out. Marc has won there loads of times, Enea won there in 2022 and Alex Rins won there last year. It's also a circuit that Mav goes well at. If Enea can win at COTA then it's a good first step towards keeping his factory Ducati ride.
It shows how close things are in Motogp. Bastianini was a force to be reckoned with,he earned that factory seat as some now forget. Then he copped that shoulder injury and hasn't been the same rider since. Just that fraction of a percentage takes a rider from hero to zero.
He also didn't really gel with the 2023 Ducati, but the 2024 bike is definitely to his liking so hopefully he can do good things. I hope so - he's in my Fantasy MotoGP team...
He'll be in next years KTM factory team alongside Acosta.
KTM bosses just been on TNT sport happily announcing that Acosta will be in factory KTM team alongside Brad Binder for 2025 and Miller is considering options with either test role or Gas Gas squad.
When asked about the talks with Marquez he says they never happened as Mark wasn’t available to talk to
If that really is true, then Ducati are showing themselves to be horribly indecisive, and not particularly smart, either. To have promised Jorge the ride, then go back on their word is pretty shabby.
But of course it could just be more silly season nonsense.

I bet Ducati give the factory seat to MM. They don't seem to like Martin,so if he fails to get the red ride, then he'll go elsewhere just to be a factory rider and won't be as much of a problem.
