It’s way more compact and will be easier to use in small spaces. I undid a wheel nut from the back of the vfr1200 and also the front axle nut with the battery on half charge. Very happy with first impressions.

The two batteries were 37 and the wrench as a bare tool was 94.

They genuine Milwaukee batteries? Sound very cheap, think the best I could find them for was £55

I do remember, a few years ago. that milwaukee had a big push to enter the UK market.

Mate has a Milwaukee what will bust your nuts off at 1900Nm or there abouts. Bit less putting them back on but there is the problem. The fucker gives it chugga chugga chug one wheels and thinks jobs a good un but you can never get the bastard nuts off at the side of the road with a wrench. 110/120Nm is your average wheel nut. i have a Makita version what is about 1500Nm and i wont use that on my wheels. My Camperbus wheels are recommended tightening torque 190Nm so i bought a cheap Chinese Makita Copy on ebay. Most say max tightening is about 290/300 i found one that says 520Nm so bought that for my wheels. I dont give it Chugga chugga chug when tightening but stop at chug and they have never came loose yet. 5amp Makita battery is anything from 55 to 70 quid and fit the Chinese stuff. Dont buy Chinese batteries they are 90% pish. I say 90 as i bought four. Two fucked up withing a month. Probably 6 month on the third and still got the fourth some three years later. It is relegated to the Makita tyre inflater though. Makita Chinese Copy chargers work well just lower charging rate so takes twice as long.

You can over tighten a nut with a Breaker bar if you pull on it hard enough. Same with an Impact wrench, you get
used to using one and apply the trigger accordingly.
I only nip wheel nuts up and then check them with a breaker bar .

I'm just not getting this. Rattle guns are brilliant at what they're supposed to do - loosening off nuts/bolts that are difficult or impossible to undo using normal hand tools. But using them to tighten nuts/bolts is a complete lottery. Unlike hand tools, where an experienced user can tell to within a little what the correct torque is, the moment you use a rattle gun that 'feel' that you have with hand tools goes straight out of the window. The only way I would ever fit wheel nuts is by torquing up with a ratchet to what feels tight but not final torque, then finishing the job using a torque wrench.

One of my pet hates is watching tyre monkeys at a tyre place I used to use rattle gunning the wheel nuts on, then checking with a torque wrench. The torque wrench would always click indicating the set torque had been reached, but in reality the wheel nuts had been torqued up to way over specification making it impossible to undo the wheel nuts at the road side in the event of a puncture. Bonkers.

You can adjust Pneumatic Wrenches to reduce the torque , also on cordless , as in Druids Milwaukee which
i believe has four torque settings , soft to hard. Its down to the user at the end of the day.

A breaker bar should never be used for tightening nuts, ever. Mental.

We use DeWalt in the workshop and it has 3 settings, I tend to use the lowest setting when nipping up larger bolts and nuts then when using a torque wrench at the correct setting they will always require just a little bit more before they are at spec.

None of this breaker bar bullshit I’ve seen it too many times where folk will for whatever mental reason use one then destroy the nut or bolt fine for loosening hence the name.

You should not tighten nuts or bolts with a breaker bar. As others have said.

Also the tyre fitter thing is quite annoying.

I have a breaker bar that lives in my Camperbus. For some reason the N/S wheels studs are reverse thread and if stuck at the side of the road with a puncture you need one. The reverse thread seems to tighten itself more when driving but they are about 190Nm to start with. I now have a Chinese rattle gun what lives in the bus what so far has never let me down.

I was only using the term breaker bar as an example, you can over tighten bolts with many tools
if your ham fisted. That said my mate owns some heavy plant and tighten nuts with a breaker bar ,its fine
your never going to strip some of the bolts on a digger.
I have also tightened stretch bolts using a breaker bar , so its a bit of a sweeping statement
to say you should never use one. Horses for courses as they say.

Its cause pit stops use windy guns innit? Must be OK etc.

Rather forgetting the fact those ones they use to change tyres in 2s are "a bit special", as are the threads.

Plus they care less if they fuck the nuts
