At this point you pop to see the factory nurse, who wraps a bandage round it and tells you to pop up to casualty 15 miles away. Your only means to get to casualty is a 250LC, so you ride to casualty with an injured right hand that you can't get a glove on, they take the bandage off, shrug, say that it's stopped bleeding so you might as well go home.

Yep, I can post a picture of my scarred finger if you want, it didn't heal straight and still has a bend to it 38 years later. I don't remember it hurting much.

You can barely see the scars, the curved finger is noticeable, I suppose I could have got it broken and reset, but it's never really bothered me.
