What kind of vapour barrier???
Does it go barrier/insulation sheets/OSD? Or insulation sheet/ barrier/OSD

Inside to outside.
OSB, vapour barrier, then insulation sheets between the studs.

I usually staple the vapour barrier to the studs(as few staples as you can get away with) then the OSB over it. Oh don't forget to tape the joints on the vapour barrier
One place I worked at had what was called Smartply which is OSB thats got a solid plastic surface that acts as a vapour barrier and you just tape the joints up but I've been told it was very expensive, not sure how much I believe that.
Thick enough OSB and you can put a screw in it anywhere for shelves/whatever.

Oh and I always use Gun grade foam, partly because I already have the gun but I use a lot of it pretty regularly so its in my interests to have the gun which can be shut off without wasting the rest of the tin.
I don't take a tin off the gun til I have another one ready to go on, hardly ever need the cleaner.
I never ever leave the gun without a tin of foam on it.
I clean the end of the nozzle by rubbing on timber as it cleans it without unnecessary abrasion that knackers the front valve.

Oh and I never lend them to fucking divvys.

I've lent a few out and theres always some rivet who runs the foam out and leaves it empty, or removes the can and can't find another or just so dense that they remove the old can and bugger off to have their butties so whatever is left in the gun goes off and thats my 20 quid gun knackered.

Oh and the best gun I've had yet is made by Yato and has a PTFE coated valve and the bit the can screws into is PTFE coated as well.
Lasts way better than any other, as long as you follow those rules up there ^.

If you're buying one I can recommend the Bosch cordless. It should be man enough for the job and it's not a hulking big thing so it's nice to use if you're doing a fair number of staples. They're about £57 though.

The black stuff is usually thicker than you actually need for walls as its for floors before the concrete goes down and gets stood on a bit through the process.

Mind, the stuff we often end up with is so thin that it doesn't staple well so the black stuffs better than that.

Don't get expanded polystyrene - it's shit. Celotex/Kingspan etc is the stuff to go for.

Through the vapour barrier onto the studs. So they hold the vapour barrier holds on til yer fixing the OSB on.
Oh and make sure theres something to fix the OSB to, especially on corners.
