I still love the 'original' RR.

My Dad had a blue one exactly like this brand new. Still the best looking Jap 600 IMO...maybe even the best looking 00s Jap sports bike.

That's not an original RR, imho.

The 2003, with RWU forks and the red and black Honda wing paint job is the original RR.

Yeah thye only did the RWU fork one for a short while, then the USD one was a minor face-lift.

Not actually sure which my Dad had.

I remember doing a trackday at Donington in the mid 00's on my 98 Fireblade. I thought I was pretty handy, but some fella's on 600RR's were killing me... on the straights.

I think the original R6 was the first 'proper' 600cc sports bike. It wasn't even attempting to be an everyday bike, then Honda caught up and did it even better a couple of years later with the RR. The late 90's early 00's GSXR600 looked like a sports bike, but didn't have the motor to back it up.

As useful as auto-blipper :D
Why do you say that? I love clutchless downshifts on the race bike, so much so I looked into retrofitting on my roadbike but was a touch expensive...

You'd need to spend ages cleaning it though and in that state it may never come back.

The only time it's moved this year was today so I could see if it still works. Worked like a charm.

She was saying we should sell it, I wasn't convinced we should, but there's little point keeping it if not being used.

For me that is what I see in my head when someone says 600RR.
