I think it's a given that they'll do an SP version, but that will be twice the price of the KTM/GasGas is and I'll be a monkeys uncle if it's twice as light and twice as good.

Sadly I feel like Ducati has lost it's sheen for me, you either pay £50k+ for something special, or you take a fairly run of the mill looking offering that's only as good but twice the price as anything the Japanese have made, ITMS.

You're clearly not drinking the Ducati Kool-Aid... Don't you realise that the magic pixie dust associated with the Ducati brand means that all of their products are unconditionally desirable, irrespective of price?

Follow a few accounts that are of interest. It should then show you related stuff. Don't watch anything you aren't really interested in or it will bombard you with similar. (I watched a reel of someone with 7 dachshunds - you'd be amazed how many dachshund related accounts there are You kind of have to train it.

(It's still gone down the (rapaciously commercial) tubes in the last 12 months though).

The other thing is, if you follow someone it will show you stuff that they're interested in/have liked. Get stuck into a few motorcycling things like Millyard, motos of war etc. Ruthlessly cull/unfollow anything that seems to start getting commercial. You can build a reasonable mango-verse but tbh it's following the standard 'shitification of the internet' protocols, OTOH we got used to expensive platforms being free...now they want their £$€'s back.

I realised that a lot of the people I followed before they started this commercial feed stuff have stopped posting. I'd guess 50% of my original 'follows' have departed...to where I don't know, but it is definitely on a downward spiral from a casual user perspective. I know of a couple that had their accounts hijacked too and couldn't get any sensible contact with them to get it resolved.

I won't do FB or WhatsApp and suspect I'll only keep IG going so that I can see stuff that people post on here in the end.

I do FB, but keep it tightly locked down (don't allow any 'platform' bollocks, for instance) and even then it's annoying. I've found FB Purity (Firefox extension) removes a lot of rubbish.

Fair bit heavier than KTM690 jobby and same power.

I'm not exactly sure of the KTM 690 SMCR specs, but the power output of the Ducati mono is only a couple of quoted hp more than my 690 Duke and the weight is almost exactly the same. It'll live or die on the pricing I suspect. But good to see KTM getting some real competition (other than from other KTM-owned brands) in that area of the market.

I'd have sworn that was a normal hypermotard if I hadn't seen the words with it.

I can't understand why you'd buy that single over the HM, I bet the weight won't be much different and the HM is more power and higher spec.

Edited...hmm I might be wrong about that, I just checked and the 950 is 198kg wet whilst this 700 is 160kg wet apparently. I'd want to try them back to back to see if the power makes up for the weight and visa versa.
