Some of the later 1100's were twin too apparently?

EDIT: December 2002 onwards models apparently, not sure what mine is - will see when it arrives.

I had one, bought it barnd new in 2001 it exploded in 2003 at 60k miles, melted both pistons on the way home from work one evening. The bike seemed to enjoy regular trips to the dealer to fix stuff with tools a home mechanic wouldn't have. The most expensive to own bike I've ever had, I vowed never to own another BMW. I used it for daily commuting, I would highly recommend a backup bike if this is your plan.

Standard they run very, very lean. I would recommend changing the fuel pressure regulator for one from the K1200. As mentioned, Twinmax is essential.

Looking at the pic it looks standard. I think the centre stand was an optional extra, so quite normal to find them without.

As an aside, it's the only bike I've ever hit the limiter in top on, and the BB chip gave it another 500rpm as well!
Draughting a zx9r down the autobahn 145......46................47 duh duh duh 45..............................42.......................38 as the tow was broken
Bet the zx was still in 5th!

Mine 'failed to proceed' just the once In the 35k i put on it.
Stuttered to a stop after pulling a minger of a mono. Fixed it at the side of the road with the supplied toolkit (somehow the ECU plug had come loose, too many crack handed wheelies I suspect).
Only issues I ever had were the paralever bearings failing, and they were BMW only, so had to schtum up £36 a time!

Enjoy confusing pursuing bikes by trail braking into corners ;)

Or not breaking at all! ;) They have good engine braking, if you're at all smooth in your riding style, then you will hardly need the brakes.

Almost sounds like.me justifying buying another bike to the missus, lower maintenance costs 👍🏻

Monokey box purchased, shall ditch the side cases and consign them to the garage shelf.

On the look out for some smoked indicator lenses and then that will probably do me.

Well the tractor has arrived - very happy with the condition, better than the 10 years newer Triumph I've traded against it! Added bonus - it has a decat fitted, just need to open ECU and see what chip is fitted.

Bummer is I can't use it until the V5C arrives - I stupidly insured against the cherished plate I have on my bike but until the V5C arrives, I can't assign the plate. Twat......

1. ALWAYS position it so the wheel is unable to rotate more than, at most, a very small amount before hitting the caliper

You could have been my 'mate' who, in an attempt to impress everyone at the bike meet, gave it the beans away from the meet, obviously forgetting about his latest security purchase. Cue one very second hand 1000rx on the n/s and about 300 people roaring with laughter!

Same part on the Rockster.... I used to have a spare but must have sold it at some point.... :(

Not 100% sure TBH, my cheapo disc lock fits? Guess the mudguards are carbon but to be fair they could do we a rub down and re-lacquer.

Its the front edge of the mudguard you have to worry about, especially if 'someone' tries to move your bike
And look at you Mr Black motor, ooooooh lardy dah!
