They look like they've rolled out of the same workshop. They're OK but losing all the gubbins makes the tank look huge! Not much point having a big tank range on a bike like that really.

Yes defo same builder I reckon. The minimalist look is odd with such a large engine/tank in my eyes, makes them look unbalanced.

I'm fairly sure there's at least a few short-run custom houses who do pretty much only boxer caff racers. The only limiting factor seems to be the builders' boredom threshhold for building the same thing day-in-day-out.

I do like that green/grey colour, I think it's an original stock Beemer shade? It just looks very "old BMW" to me.

Give 'em a proper seat unit and an airbox and I'd be all over 'em.

Re the airbox it's sort of ironic that they've had to make up a new part to replace the actual airbox (which is normally integrated into the top-rear of the engine block). Although - having looked at some photos of the later R100 engines.... I can't really blame them - the last iteration of that engine has an ugly as f*ck airbox!

The thing they've put in the place though just looks like a crappy OEM black plastic case...

Without an in person inspection, I'd say it's a bit of thin aly bent to shape and with a few slots cut in it, then sprayed matt black.

Yeah probably, but it looks like a cheapo OEM part :D Probably not what they were going for and way less sensible than an airboc.

Despite modifications being a bit difficult to get through the ITV (MOT) system here, I have regularly seen a few K100 and K75 cafe racers on the roads near me. I thought the looked quite good, as not too messed about with, and look much nicer to me (as cafe racers) that the boxer BMW's.

Standard bikes are cheap to buy (even here) and need little spending on a cosmetic "conversion". The prices of standard Boxers are getting ridiculous now

I try and get some photos when I next see one/them.
