Old Manny man, I've fitted a dash cam.

£100 kit from Amazon, works fine, but what a pain to fit to my bike, I've put the recorder under the pillion seat, but it was an arse to get neat.

I'm too knackered to ride the bike now

Just bought the vsysto dual camera thing that velcros to your helmet and has a front and rear facing camera in a single unit.

Son came off his scooter on gravel yesterday, useful to have in case of accidents.

And check that the SD card you have is the right type.

I wouldn't show the speedo, only folk north of the border can do that. "Catch me if you can law" still stands up thur.

I think that’s probably where I am. I’d be more concerned about other people’s dash cams alongside a jobsworth attitude.

I’m not one for doing solid whites or similar, but even so it has made me more circumspect when I’m out.

Not something I'd really considered before what with being a bit of a luddite an all it really is a case of "bloody technology" hopefully any silly business* I get up to ends up on YouTube rather than with the fuzz.

* I ride a BMW Panzy & a 16yo Guzzi so unlikely anyway

I have one fitted (Innovv front and rear). I only have it as I commute into London which I considered higher risk than normal out of town riding.

It's reasonably stealthy but would be found by anyone looking for it. On balance I think it's worth having for my personal circumstance.

I'd maybe have a teeny tiny hidden one stashed in an air intake or something but there's no fucking way on earth I'd have an obvious one, thats just asking for Dibble to use it against me.
As for an insurance company wanting footage as evidence in a rear ender accident?

A company employing people that gormless should be named and shamed.

Would the police need a warrant to use the footage as evidence?

@Nordboy for clarification, but IIRC for serious collision investigation the vehicles would be examined and the memory cards taken as evidence.

I was thinking more about speeding and dubious over takes, in the event of a serious collision I'd volunteer to give them the footage, and if the collision was my fault I'd take the punishment without complaining.

Riders own cameras have definitely been used in evidence against them in the past and still are through the camera partnerships.

Personally, I wouldn't be seizing camera footage for evidence for speeding for example, If I'm going book someone for speeding, I'd already have any evidence I required.

But for due care and especially dangerous driving allegations, I'd certainly be considering looking for other evidence to use.
