He came off but was struck by a following rider resulting in an immediate airlift to hospital. Scans showed a fractured skull and some bleeding on the brain. He is stable and being monitored but docs are confident he doesn’t need surgery and should make a full recovery
Some good news 👏

Lots of positives to take from that,14 y/o folk bounce well! It looks like he'll be out of racing action for a few months.

Just Googled and they can buy an over the counter kit to give them plenty of extra power. Why persevere with a Superstock motor ?

Maybe they run so tight after all is paid, they don't have the 2k extra. I can't think of any other reason they wouldn't buy the engines, unless they can't afford to.

It may not be as easy as just buying the kit:

"Available, but:
The delivery time for this product is unknown. We advice you to check the availabilty with our customer service."

There's loads of other race kits. They could have even bought an existing race bike and gave the engine a refresh then slotted it into posh race bike.
Plenty of other solutions.

It does seem strange.

It might be down to homologation. Nobody else is running a Honda.

Or, allegedly, the team is a bunch of charlatans, and they promised something they can't deliver.

Is the wrong answer.

The correct answer is:

A: Bike good, necessary faster - Doohan/Marquez is winning on it, you western dog.

I always loved that quote allegedly made by a top HRC man "Bike good, rider necessary faster"

They cant use it this time as the bike is seriously underpowered at the moment and there seems to be a lack of toys coming from HRC to Ms Moriwaki and her team. Internal Japanese race politics perhaps

Any chance the Japanese are struggling with the fact that it's a woman team principal? :1 :1
