I think it will be fine, I've not heard of any problems with them, and Suzuki UK can be a bit weaselly about warranty claims within the 3 years (look up GSXS 750 headlight warranty claims) so I don't think you'll gain much by getting it dealer serviced.

I looked up about the 1000's headlight and couldn't see anything. I know the 750 has a different design without the bollock sack underneath so maybe the 1000 escaped that issue, I hope.
