Re: New Bike Ideas ????
None of them grab mine either, if I were you I'd buy another GSXR1000 and put a set of MX bars in it

You’ll get one easy in budget, none of the slow learner bikes will do anything for you

Re: New Bike Ideas ????
I'm assuming the GSXS1000 is to the GSXR1000 what the GSXS750 is to the GSXR750, the GSXS is a very different bike to ride to a GSXR, the engine is very similar, but the riding position makes for a much more relaxed ride, the GSXS doesn't push you to go stupidly fast like the GSXR does.

But still open to ideas.

Definitely ride an SM for about an hour before you spend a lot of money on one, I found mine was the most fun on two wheels for the first 30 minutes of riding, after that it was an uncomfortable pain in the arse with a hand grenade for an engine.

He lives on an Island that's 1500m across with 3.4km or roads. He'll be fine.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 10:08 pm Definitely ride an SM for about an hour before you spend a lot of money on one, I found mine was the most fun on two wheels for the first 30 minutes of riding, after that it was an uncomfortable pain in the arse with a hand grenade for an engine.

Re: New Bike Ideas ????
Sorry if I offend, but most bikes mentioned so far have been low budget jobbies. Commuter stuff.
My GSXR1000 and GasGas are right at the top of their game and want this mid bike to be the same.
I'm 63 now, and still want fun. Budget bikes aren't in the equation. Can't turn back time so I want this to be a good choice.
The KTM/GasGas SM jobbies are quite high spec according to the reviews.

Maybe in a few years when I stop the hard enduro.
I've pals nearing 70 who've bought these sort after 20 years enduro.
I'm not giving on too soon

Nah you could never offend but claiming the GSXR 1000 is at “the top of their game” is comical, best joke yet, you’re too funny!

Re: New Bike Ideas ????
But what game do you want your new bike to be the top of?
The two bikes you have are very focussed, it strikes me that you want your next bike to be something of a compromise?
something you can have a bit of fun on wearing a pair of jeans.
Z900 or similar?

Re: New Bike Ideas ????
Yorick, you haven't offended me, if you want a "top of it's game" supermoto then you want something like a KTM SMR450, but they are very focused, like Wheelnut, I got the impression you wanted something softer, something that's the modern equivalent of a 350LC
