I was beating 748's on a 550 that weekend, and at Snett of all places! And on the back straight got passed again, and had to do silly business again through the esses, bomb hole, Coram, and Russell's.

Blimey, that's going back a bit. Think that was the weekend we said your (then) new Mrs was a lovely lady, and it was time to move on.
Good races to watch on the twisty bits

yeah, the same weekend my new and still my current missus was mistaken for my ex gf by Rusty, one of the braking line photographers while walking past he said it was nice to see her again back at the track and it was her first time in the paddock  ....in his defence both were about the same height, figure, blond and sunglasses

IIRC the Snetterton layout was changed for the 2011 season onwards. Never liked it tbh.

And anything on the straights is boring, other than the fact that you can pop long wheelies on the balance point on them.

Wife had the drz400 as a SM and loved it. I had the XR650R which is one of the most fun bikes I’ve ever owned.

Loved SMs. There was something a bit ‘mix tape’ about them- just fun, the whole being the sum of various parts you’d poured over eBay for.

More exciting on a day to day basis than anything else I’ve had. Wish they’d make it again
