Hmm...coccyx-ish or some sort of circulation or nerve pressure, numb plums....physio.

I don't think chammy underpants are going to solve things...but it'll be interesting and I'll be wrong if they do.

Agree, that sounds like nerve pressure pain. Get down to your local physio.

I had severe pain in my legs and around the sit bones of my butt a few years ago - felt like sciatica in my legs and red hot pressure sores around my butt cheeks. Went to the physio and he tracked it down to the muscles in my back/neck having knotted themselves up due to sitting over a laptop for years on end. The result was that they were squashing my nerves, hence the pain. Over a period of about 6 - 8 months, and constantly doing pilates type back stretches, the muscles freed up and the pain went away.

Some bikes are hideous after 80 or so miles (my MT-10 was even with a comfort seat), but you shouldn't be experiencing that sort of pain, after 80-90 miles, when using something like a corbin.

That sounds exactly like what I have - and I often get sciatica after riding the bike. Off to investigate

What, where exactly does it hurt? Are we talking glutes, hips, back or what? Given the above with the Corbin seats and sports bikes etc suggests you may need a physio rather than a nice soft cushioned seat. Never heard anyone complain about bum ache with a Corbin.

It large - PSA gets done every six months
On pills for it - but never computed that it could have been a cause of my discomfort

Might not be that, then. I suffer from it, but, interestingly, not usually on the bike!

On two of my bikes (Himalayan and Street Triple) I put a 2cm thick gel pad and a sheepskin on the standard seats. Made a huge difference to both bikes. The Triumph used to be very uncomfortable sfter 40 minutes, but with the gel pad and sheepskin, I was able to ride up to Flash Tours and back with no issues.

I have been using one sheepskin for about 10 years, and still can shake water droplets off of it after washing the bike.

A few beers one evening led to me purchasing a pair of WINX Wheels Ultra Shorts that are always advertised on eBay. They're just cycling shorts but a bit cheaper than the cycling brands.

Used them on last weekend's Wales tour and they made a massive difference. Normally get about 100 miles in and then start fidgeting but with the WINX shorts they were all day comfortable on the Friday and then extending the comfort period on the Saturday and Sunday waaayyy beyond what I'm used to.

And it seems to work well - I will tell you in a couple of weeks

Incidentally, just checked the Airhawk SWMBO uses and the stetchy cover has ripped. Bought that in 2018... it's done two tours of NZ and some two up riding at home including a trip to Pembroke... probably 10 k miles tops. Not impressed.

That's a hard pass from me, they make no difference in riding comfort, you have to walk about feeling like you've filled your nappy and they're bloody bloody hot to wear.

I can see how they might work for narrow seats where you sit astride it, but for a cruiser seat where you sit on, the padding in all the wrong places
