Ford had run out of wheels when I bought my van so I'm not sure how much I'd trust him, I don't think I'll ever let it go that they had plain steel wheels on six months back order.
I ended up buying a set made for Sprinters.

You said he was Ford's tyre and wheel manager, Ford can't even manage making steel wheels.
Since when did anything on here have to be fair?

The tyre fitter won't be the one deciding to pay out on the insurance. Our local plod are shit hot on pulling cars with modified wheels, they consider it a modification.Demannu wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2023 6:49 pm So today I spoke to a tyre shop.
In their opinion, provided the load range is ok, then there are no legality issues. They did say that a 4ply tyre is going to have more corner roll and bump absorption than a commercial tyre.
There suggestion is to find a 16" wheel.

Years ago, colleague had an Alfa. Twice it 'leapt' sideways on a dual carriageway.
First time, garage couldn't find anything wrong.
Second time they noticed that the wheels on one side were different to those on the other side.
Alfa GB said "How odd. We've only ever had that on one other car."
